Forums - Gaming - Opinions on rules for The Top 10 games of this generation 2012 Edition

For the people who don't know, I hold a top 10 games of the generation every year on this site.  In the past it worked like this, you would post your favorite 10 games for this gen from any home console or pc game like this.

1. Gears
2. Metal Gear
3. Uncharted
4. etc
5. etc
6. etc
7. etc
8. etc
9. etc
10. etc

The points system works like this

1. 10 points
2. 9 points
3. 8 points
4. 7 points
5. 6 points
6. 5 points
7. 4 points
8. 3 points
9. 2 points
10. 1 point

This year I am looking to change the rules a bit, or add on to them.  I am adding games series now for sure.  So instead of people being torn between games like assassin's creed 1, 2, brotherhood, or revelation, you can just put Assassin's creed series and it will count towards all of them. What other rules could be added on to make this more fair?

Maybe a tariff for each voter depending on how many systems they own. For example, I don't own a PS3, so am obviously not in a position to nominate any PS3 exclusives - maybe someone who does and who also owns a 360, Wii and a PC is in a better postition to suggest ideas than me. So maybe a decimal point indicator (e.g. 1.0 for a single-system player, 1.1 for a two-system player, 1.2 for a three-system player and 1.3 for a four-system player) could be used to multiply nominations by. I play on two systems, therefore my nominations' scores would be multiplied by 1.1.
