I hate to say it, but women like Girl Gamer Elite make this statement from Chris Rock true:

“Don't argue! You cannot win, you cannot beat a woman in a arguement. It's impossble you will not win. Cause men, we are handicapped when it comes to arguing cause we have a need to make sense!”

I have yet to encounter a game on the PS3 that requires at leaat 1 GB to be installed, and along comes DMC4 and now every game on the PS3 has to suffer the same fate... wait, that's right, that's not the case!

GGE, if you have a complaint about this, blame Capcom, not Sony or the PS3. There is absolutely no reason why this install had to be mandatory.

ok so we know that DMC4 has a 5gig file to install, but that makes me now wonder how many PS3 games out their actually have the same feature, I know that both UT3 and heavenly sword have files you can install but what other games are there?

Ninja Gaiden Sigma has an install feature and Assassin's Creed automatically downloads a game cache file the moment you boot up the disk. If I remember correctly (and someone verify this for me) Resistance: FOM also had the option of game data installation.

Also, Ratchet and Clank has a cache file that automatically downloads upon boot as well. No, none of them are in comparable size to the 5GB of data that DMC4 has but still.

OH! Beowulf has a 1084MB system file download when you boot it up. I forgot all about that one.

Let me add that this is not soley a PS3 problem. It is an industry problem. If this trend continues this will be a norm and PCs and Consoles will be nearly indistinguishable. We already are getting buggy releases that get patched later that haunts the PC software world.

This is not good for gaming and you can't write it off as if this will be the only game or console that this will be a problem for.

Yes, the blockbuster that is Spider-Man 3. I wonder if people find it burdensome to delete the game's game data.

Real question is, how many people actually still play a game after beating it that falls between "Craptastic" and "Mediocre"?

Way too many posts.

I really feel sorry for the prospective PS3 owner who had previously owned a PS2. If this is the future for the PS3 games (not all games!), then Sony WILL NOT enjoy sales like the PS or PS2.

This is a sad state of affairs if people have to accept installing on a console because it's just simply not good enough otherwise...
