Skyrim more popular then Dark Souls sure. Clearly better? Personal Taste. I'm still excited a rpg won game of the year tho.

Well one has a metacritic of 96 and the other a 89. Id say it appears clearly better to me.

If you think games are better becuase Metacritic says it  thats you. I form my own imperssions  from what I see and play and I haven't even said Dark Souls is better.  Metacritic doesn't dictate anything.  Darksouls deserved to be on GoTY list (In my opinion) but just because people like Skyrim doesn't mean Dark Souls is unworthy.

I never said you said that either, but indiviual gamers opinions mean squat. A metacritic score is based on dozens of professional critics reviews, that does mean alot and going by the scores one game looks to be better than the other one easily. Not that Dark Souls score is poor in its own right though.

These "Professional Critics" are  nothing more then people with opinions. They arent the good game deciding overlords so no Skyrim isn't "Clearly" better.  AND if they were "Professional" they would have been mass talk about the problems it has. Skyrim can be better then Dark Souls in every possible way however it losses in 1 ascept. Dark Souls accutally works as intended. :)

Opinions that influence countless readers decision on buying the game or not. My or your opinion couldnt get thousands of people to buy a game theirs does. Still though it obviously is a better game, hence the better scores, user scores and awards.

Its an opinion that it's a better game not a fact.

It aint a fact that Skyrim is a better game than Big Rigs either but it is.

Opinion =/= fact. Super Mario Galaxy must shit all over Skyrim then because it has a 97.

Skyrim winning is a complete joke, i run into countless bugs per day playing the game. Lets not even get started on the framerate, its average frames keep dropping the longer you play and thats a fact. Countless times i will be playing and the game is a slideshow and i'm forced to load old game saves and pick a different direction to go in due to the problem. I average about 4 console freezes per day aswell.

Lets look at the graphics aswell, the game looks ugly, muddy last gen textures all over the place. The game has about 10different voice actors at most. The sound in this game is very low quality aswell.

All the dungeons repeat over and over again. The same rooms and walls repeat over and over again. And the game designers can't even keep track of which walls go where as you will see specific dungeon walls in dungeons they were not meant for.

Let talk about the 1.2 patch, still current on consoles which broke all resistances. Whats that you want to fight that dragon, well his fire breath now does 950 damage on your 400health charcter... Or we can talk about mages killing 500hp charcters in 2hits. Why don't we talk about dragons fying backwards and through objects.

You wanted to play a melee charcter well lets give the enemies "ice cloak"? so whenever you get near you freeze and turn to ice. Lets talk about dragon shouts that can't be blocked and when they throw you across a room your max physical resistance character dies before he is able to stand up even though he had 500HP. All this is on the 360.

Wow we ave diferent games.

I'm over 80 hours in. Never had a restart, dont get repeat dungeons, have fantastic sound and pretty much dont experiance any of your issues in 80 hours..

I do get some hilarious glitches every now and then. bu not 1 single issue your disc has.

Also I have 22 Dragon Souls and have yet to see a dragon go backwards.

IMO."IF" your game does everyting you say and forces you that many restarts an you obviously still play it daily with your comments, It DEFINATELY deserves GOTY.

Anyways  Bethesda thanks for the best game this Gen.

AWesome.

The problem is i play it less and less daily to to more bugs popping up.  I just had to turn it off right now, i ran into one dragon flying backwards then he went flying backwards across the Tundra outside whiterun.  I then went off on some other mission i had planned to grab some new shout when i came across a dragon in the mountain.  I grabbed the shout while the dragon was bugged then proceded to walk away only to have the game start to run at under 5frames.

I used the shout to clear the skies which only made the frames worse.  I then tried to load the map to fast travel away, but was unable to due to "being in combat", the map was also screen tearing whenever i tried to move it to a different location.

I'm at 164hours into the game, and have been leaving no items on the ground and trying to close all doors behind me.  I also use the "wait" system quite a bit waiting for stores to open so old bodies and junk should be clearing up on a regualr basis.  The problem is the more you play the larger the files and the more things to remember, so after a time the game will screw up for everybody.

My guards in the markarth are bugged.  I'm unable to buy a dog, due to vanishing dogs that i did have.  My horses are always targeted first in any combat so unable to use them since they die in only a few hits.  The theives guild is bugged for me and i'm unable to start it.  I also have a few bugs regarding the companions, but story related so won't list them.  I also have unremovalbe quest items on me even after completeing the quests.

Older save files are being deleted or having other saves repeated over them.  I wanted certain saves still around so left them and now they have newer saves written over them, auto saves are not being used.

My friend has done 293 hours and his gme runs the same as mine. No freezng, no frame issues. I'm really impressed by Bethesda on 360 version.

I think your copy is screwed.

I don't know what to tell you griffin, you are the only person who is documenting any of these types of problems on the 360 version and while you certainly have more hours and areas explored than my current character I'm not that far behind and I'll be happy to let you know if I start encountering the same problems.  Have you contacted bethesda studios regarding the problem, they would probably be interested in getting some information on your particular game and problems so they can continue to improve the stability of the game.

Regarding your post, I'm sure you can understand why people are questioning its authenticity.  Your profile makes it very clear that you are a huge Sony (that is not a bad thing) and this game has rightfully angered a lot of PS3 users. Couple that with the list of problems (BTW the dungeons in this game are incredible, a huge step forward from oblivion) that have never been associated with the 360 version, and the logical conclusion would be that this a fake post designed to discredit a game and a developer that simply didn't meet the standards of the PS3 userbase, which, I will say again, Bethesda should have never made this game for the PS3 or they should have spent an extra year with a seperat team just on the PS3 version.

Found this on Youtube. No 360 problems. But PS3 is unplayable.

We may as well count the 360 has another exclusive.

Not as long as the game actually exists on the PS3, but even so: The PC rapes it E S P E C I A L L Y with the modding community. By your logic, Skyrim is a PC exclusive.

EDIT: Damn Bethesda fail on X360 too..

Difference with the 360 is it was ( yes was ) a bug. NOT a memory issue. An isolated case that has had a patch.

Also as the OP of that video stated, it only appened once before, but on this 2nd his save no longer worked. So it points  to a bug, not a memory issue.

Compare that with the hundereds of comments and hundreds of videos regarding PS3 memory issue and your grasping at straws.

he 360 vesion has now had 2 patches and runs like heaven next to the PS3 version.

Many 360 gamers are playing without any problems, just a few hilarious glitches  like flying horses.

As for PC modding? I dont care for the PC games and there mods. I hate PC gaming. I like my sofa.

I'll be trading in my laptop and PC for a Windows 8 tablet when the are out. It will do everything  need a computer to do.

Now, that just rude

Thankfully, my sofa allows me to play on both my consoles and PC, so it's the best of both worlds. I have a really nice sofa

No offence. I understand why PC gaming is great. I just dont have the time & space to go through my TV.

As is I really only use my laptop for internet and a few apllications, Windows 8 tablet will suit me. :)))

i pay 60 euros for the ps3 version, i dont pull euros from my ass to buy 3 versions of the game ... i am waiting for the patch to fix it ...

I have no problem with complaints, but people are acting like the committed rape on 10,000 Nord women. Hope the next patch does more of the faults justice.

Griffin I have to say the problems you are describing are not consistent with the 360 version. My guess is your 360 is on the way out or you have a defective copy which just doesn't seem logical.

this I have a dozen friends who have the 360 version and have each played it for over one hundred hours. The only problem that any of them have ever experienced other then small things like dragons occasinally acting funny, is that some quest items do not dissappear after finishing the quest and so you are stuck with them.

Personally the only glitches I experience with the pc version of the game is that menu hotkeys occasionally don't work.

I think user scores on metacritic prove either griffin is exceptionally unlucky or lying about the version he has.

The problem is time spent won't really give a good picture of the amount of the world explored or possible items around or which missions they have done.  I'm at 249 locations discovered and 128 cleared dungeons, 65quests and 201 misc ones completed.   I'm at level 71 on the 360 version right now.

@Griffin Why would an obvious Sony fan buy Skyrim for the 360? Why not post your GT so we can see if you really are playing on the 360?

Thing is, asking for someones GT/PSN ID for proof of something is pretty useless cause they can just give you their friends ID and act like it's their's.
