Forums - Gaming - Can somebody recommend me some good gaming soundtracks?

I already have a PC,PSP, a smartphone, a PS3, Satellite radio (in my car), and Last FM on my 360 to satisfy my music needs.  With all of these options, the music feature on my 3DS hasn't been used very much.  Then, I had a revelation.

I got the Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword and it came with the free CD.  I ripped the CD and put it onto my 3DS.  I listened to it all night while I was working.  From that point, I decided that my 3DS would be used exclusively for video game soundtracks!  Unfortunately, that's not an area that I'm particularly knowledgeable about.

Can somebody recommend their favorite gaming soundtracks?  I'm gonna need actual names (possibly even song titles) of the soundtracks because I plan to download them from the net or buy the CD and rip them.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

So far, I only have music for Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross, Super Mario 25th Anniversary, Zelda 25th Anniversary, Grandia II, and Silent Hill 3.

Dark souls, I can't get them out of my head, but I'm sure that not everyone would like them , here are some of them .

Some epic ones from GoW 3 :

^^Thanks for those two, VXIII!--kinda weird how, if I didn't see the youtube vids, I wouldn't be able to tell which track came from which game but I can't complain. Both sound awesome and will be worthy additions to my library. I'll probably download both of these in their entirety and select the best from the soundtracks to put on my 3DS. I'll probably toss in the original Kingdom Hearts soundtrack too, for some diversity.

Do you have both Grandia II CDs?? Grandia 1 is really good too. In fact it uses a proper orchestra so sounds better in a way.

I only have the disc that came with the Dreamcast game.

Most music from games in the 16 bit era are good imo. Try actraiser 1 & 2, they are more classical type though but very good still

First link--So awesome!!

I'll post one of my favourite pieces of music from each of the games I would recommend:

and get the SSBBrawl sound track as well, it has many of the best from Nintendo's huge catalogue of tunes

The amount of video game soundtracks I can recommend to you depends entirely on how much you like 8- and 16-bit Capcom music.
