You do realize it even stated in the article you posted that's main quest only right? 30-40 hours is plenty for just main quest stuff, the side quests will be at least another 20. That's more than enough gameplay.

Easily a lot longer: multiple endings (which will require rewrites of specific events), super bosses, chocobo racing, side quests, that mini-game area.

The trophies/achievements will probably have that "find all items" and "capture all monsters" crap.

I wouldn't be suprised if this is a 100+ hour Platinum.

Ya exactly.  I was being conservative with the 20 hours for side quest stuff but considering they are trying to add tons of side quests like the older FF titles had I wouldn't be the least surprised if it was 100 hours or more either.

Don't know why people complain about the length since FF XIII was 40~50hrs long on main story. I beat it on 43hrs and that's considering 2~4hrs of grinding for AP or whatever was called the EXP in that game

How long did they say XIII was cuz I'm in CH11 and got like 60 hours into it (I love to max out my characters/weapons n_n)

EDIT: So it's shorter than XIII? - - - It's fine, it'll take me longer than average to beat anyways

XIII took me roughly 40 hours to finish but between 78-88 hours to Platinum. X-2 for example was shorter then X (took me 24 hours or so) but trying to 100% the game in the end was what made it a lot longer then X.
