The tweet said it's 18CU for GPU

Plus if it's right i don't even know why edge said it's slightly powerful than 720,it should be not just slightly...why you throw edge anyway,i'm talking about vgleaks

Oh god... every rumor said 18 CUs.

18 Compute Units (CUs)

Every rumor was right execpt the RAM but even the RAM in the latest rumor Edge said "Sony has told developers that it is pushing for the final PS4 RAM to match up to Microsoft’s 8GB." - http://www.edge-online.com/news/playstation-4-revealed/2/

THE RUMORS ARE RIGHT!!! ON SPOT!!! NO MISTAKE!!!

Hardware balanced at 14 CUs

Again i'm saying it should not just "slightly more powerful" like what edge said in real terms, not on spot or not.

Btw there are too much IBM guys moved to MS since 2010,make me little confused about Durango CPU

The devkit is balanced to 14CUs for graphics but you can use all the 18 for graphics too... that's already knew... the rumors are right with the final specs.

About the Edge that worked with both devkits said the PS4 devkit have 4GB RAM... that's comparison he did... but he said "Sony has told developers that it is pushing for the final PS4 RAM to match up to Microsoft’s 8GB"... so now that's another history... the RAM vantage for Nextbox doesn't exist anymore and the PS4 RAM is way fast.

So now I can see with these specs... It will not be only slightly.

Pete Hines (Bethesda) - Not as big leap as PS2 to PS3
Mark Rein (Epic) - I disagree, this is spectacular

The #1 wish from Crytek was RAM. Bethesda makes fun games but they've never made a great looking game / engine that pushes the industry. EPIC and Crytek specialize in pushing the most advanced game engines. Crysis 3 scales with 6+ CPU cores! That's just the beginning for next gen games. Skyrim can't even use more than 2 cores.

I tend to trust EPIC's opinion on this one since UE4 is very impressive in terms of pushing graphics/game engines. If you read all the interviews Crytek said RAM was very important since you can do a lot of tricks with it. Not only did Sony surprise us with 8GB of RAM, which wouldn't have been a big deal if it was $50 8GB DDR3, but they managed to include 8GB GDDR5! Just to put this in perspective, the cheapest AMD HD7970 card with 6GB of GDDR5 is $600 and GeForce Titan with 6GB is $1000. Obviously the actual GPUs on those cards are much more powerful overall but 8GB of GDDR5 is very expensive. Nvidia charges $50 just go from 2GB GDDR5 to 4GB on the GTX680. Sony went all out here because they retained 170GB/sec bandwidth for the GPU but both PS3's GPU and Xbox 360 GPU's had their memory bandwidth cut in half. In this case the 18 CU GCN gets full access of the PC version ;) On the graphics side, anything faster would have meant GTX675MX/680M/MX or HD7970M. Those are crazy expensive.

The CPU is probably going to be disappointing in the long-term if it's a Jaguar 8-core compared to Intel Haswell/AMD Piledriver 8-module ones.

I don't know how MS is going to respond to this. I think they just got caught with their pants down, probably expecting 4GB of GDDR5 maximum, thinking they would trump Sony by marketing that their system uses 8GB of system memory. It's probably unrealistic to redesign the GPU/memory subsystem of Xbox 720 at this time. Perhaps MS will use the most highest version of Jaguar stepping, 1.8-1.85Ghz instead of the rumored 1.6Ghz.

Do you think developers won't have a dev kit design for 8GB GDDR5 retail console in Feb?it's coming this year, not next year, that's why they said "has told" then use "in real terms" in few paragraphs later, but as i say,if MS doesn't changed(like add even more DDR3 RAM or change it to GDDR5),it should not be just slightly...actually even 4GB GDDR5 already not slightly if the rumors about durango was right.

They know each others spec mostly, just we don't know until they announce it

The #1 wish from Crytek was RAM. I tend to trend one of the top PC developers in terms of pushing graphics/game engines. If you read all the interviews they said RAM was very important since you can do a lot of tricks with it. Yeah, Mark Rain seemed really excited about RAM - he couldn't stress enough how important that was for them. Yeah, maybe bit weaker CPU, but...they said APU...you think they pushed AMD to go ahead of schedule and make them fully coherent memory + GPU context switching HSA capable APU?

lol I'm with Epic (UE4) just because Bethesda are way way way bad developers.

Yea, considering Epic is making the game engine the majority of PS4 games will run on, I'm sure they know the ins and outs of the HW better than anyone, except Sony.  Though, I disagree partially with Bethesda being bad developers.  There games are always fun to play.  But, it does suck that they are such horrible programmers.  So much so that there is a fanbase dedicated to just modding the games to correct game breaking bugs.  Oh well, if there games still suck on the programming level nex gen, they sure as hell can't blame the RAM.

Anyway the official release specs said '"AMD next-generation Radeon™ based graphics engine"... Can it be GCN2 based? And CPU + GPU in a single-chip... really good.

Dual-Shock and PSEye specs...
