Ubisoft is almost as bad as Crapcom nowadays. That being said, the appallingly low sales for Rayman Origins makes me lose faith in the average gamer and the thought that this will prevent the release of Beyond Good and Evil 2 is simply disheartening.

It's not my fault!  I actually planned on buying it before they even mentioned this "Buy this if you want that..." bullshit.  It's just that, for some reason, they decided it was best to release this game around Christmas when people were buying the 3DS and its games, Sonic Generations, Skyward Sword, and all of the other biggest and best games of the year.  Rayman is no doubt a good game but it's still a $60 2D platformer.  And they lowered the price before I even got a chance to buy it!!

One has to wonder what the heck Ubi was thinking with the timing on this one.

I don't blame Ubisoft, it was a 2D platformer released on holidays, and a critically acclaimed one too, and the notion 2D platformers should be cheaper is a stupid industry standard that should have never existed.

I fully blame the current western audience in general, people no longer like these types of game anymore, it is not a AAA cinematic experience, it is a charming, kiddy looking game, and that unfortunately is no longer enough for many people.

I am planning to get the game, I couldn't afford it on december, but I will get it since it looks like a beautiful and very fun game.

I don't think platformers need to be cheaper either (though many of my favorites this gen were downloadale titles..).  Many of us don't.  Just look at how much 2D Mario or Little Big Planet (I buy both seres) sell at 50 bucks a pop.  It's just that Rayman was never a huge franchise.  It was always quality but never a major player.  I think this game came out in November.  They never even gave the game a chance to sell.  It's $30 at Gamestop and $20 in other places.  It should have come out in April 2012 or something.

Around the Network

Meh, even if they did make it, Ubisoft would just release it at the same time as their biggest game of the year and not promote it at all like they've done time and time before. It's like it's written in Ancel's contract or something.
