lol you call Super Mario 3D Land a 3D Mario game. Yah I guess the fact you see it in 3D makes it a 3D game but its not a 3D Mario game, neither is it a 2D Mario game. It is a hybrid it features both 3D and 2D levels on content. Having played the game myself it has something in it for every Mario fan.
Nintendo is pushing it because Nintendo wants Mario to be a single franchise and people not to distiguish between 2D and 3D Mario. They want to merge the two to create the ultimate Mario game that all fans will enjoy equally. Judging by what I played and what reviewers are saying I think they have done an amazing job!
