Whats up with 250+ [over 25%] of them being over 50 years old, I can't think of any 50+ year old that would be interested in ANY video game console/handheld.

You do realise how long video games have been around don't you ? .

It could be a factor in regards to early adoption though , since youth  and chinese nationals seem to be the ones who drive early demand.

Research shows Video games  help make you smarter, so why am I an idiot

Looking at things I'm distressed at the underwhelming performance of the PS4 , not yet out of final planning and already we have not one person saying ,  your focus on the Wii U and Vita be damned , I'm getting a PS4. So it's already been dismissed and that's also why the Vita has such a poor showing, people aren't going to purchase the PS4's controller - A.K.A the Vita before the PS4's release , especially  with this survey showing no PS4 demand .

What does interest Japanese gamers? probably nothing.

Lol, what does that have to with the Wii?  You feeling guilty or something?

Besides, only 6% had a Wii, remember?  And if I have to except that Vita will be a failure, then you must except that the Wii U will be an even bigger failure.  Of course, I don't think any will be a failure.  I think the Wii U will be successful, but nowhere near Wii successful.  I also think the Wii U has a VERY good shot at being passed by either the PS4 or the NeXbox, or maybe both.  The Vita I see getting a better market share than the PSP did this gen, somwhere closer to 50%.

I have already accepted (yes, accepted) that the Wii U will be a failure. Now hold your word and say it with me: The Vita will be a failure.

HAHAHAHA Love it

Just leave it to Nintendrones to turn this article into a: "means nothing for Nintendo, is the ruin for Sony" argument. This survey means nothing for any of them.

Nintendo is selling their IPs to Microsoft and this is true because:

I noticed that too.  While I think Rol is half way joking, he is leading on people like Christian who are probably very serious in their mocking / hate toward Sony.  But yeah, let's forget the fact that The Wii kind of died off in Japan prematurely and that many Japanese people are seeing the WiiU as the same, except HD and a tablet.

Either way, I think that both will do fine as they can in the Japanese market considering the state it's in right now.  I like Nintendo (I will re-iterate my hate toward NoA, though) and Sony both, but sometimes the members on VGChartz make it difficult.  Usually, it seems that Nintendo fans here have more of a problem with me liking Sony than the other way around.

"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY."  --Hermann Goering, leading Nazi party member, at the Nuremberg War Crime Trials

It was a simple observation of fact. Primarily i would agree with those who asserted that this survey was poorly done, at least if anyone is trying to take it as anything more than a casual glance at the Japanese consumer, but if we were to take the study as definitive, it would be disturbing that a console that is highly detailed and imminently releasing and in the key stages of pre-release hype has the same level of purchase intent as a console that is mostly a mystery

I think it bodes worse for Vita than it does for Wii U. Wii U is little more than a concept at this point, albeit a concept that we know will exist in the foreseeable future. Vita has a price point, games, and an imminent release

Nailed it.

Though I can completely understand Japan's disinterest with Vita.

And why would Japan be not interested in Vita ?

Lack of compelling software?

It has more Japan oriented soft for launch than 3DS in it's initial months.

None of which seems to be selling anyone on the hardware.

Tag - "No trolling on my watch!"

Its kind of obvious by the support its receiving that Vita interest japanese gamers.
