A game like retribution undoubtedly got its sales from steam. The only PC games you can buy at mainstream retail outlets are valve, blizzard and the occasional bir release like battlefield.

In fairness, retribution is just an expansion.

And im not sure if im right in saying this but dawn of war 2 was quite different from dawn of war 1, and maybe they lost a few fans along the way. I know for a fact that they lost me as a fan, after i loved dawn of war 1.

Piracy really hits PC sales. We can see that games which require a original copy to get the full experience, like SC2 and WoW, sell really well. So the market is definately there.

i cannot and will not believe that Battlefield does 'poorly' compared to consoles. (But then again, most of the copies were surely sold on Origin.. which makes me care less for retail sales, since they would be anything but accurate)

Last time i checked VGC accuracy first week sales of Black Ops in Germany and Poland were > VGC others number ;)
