I've heard that there is some sort of cd-key required when two players play together with seperate platforms on PS3 and PC's Steam service.

Does the multiplayer on PS3's portal 2 requires some sort of cd-key/online pass if both players play it on PSN?

I'm thinking of passing the CD-Key or online pass(if there is one) to PC gamer friend of mine who games regularly on steam.

They way it works is you like your steam account to your psn account so when you play portal you log into steam as well unfortunatly you wouldn't be able to share the code as it's tied to your account automatically. So no game sharing sorry to say

So even if I play on PSN only with another PS3 friend, I still need the code?

Doesn't it connect your PSN account normally without any restrictions to PSN like almost every  other PS3 game?

i think you dont need the code to play over psn but if you give it to a friend then your psn and his steam account will be forever linked and you wont be able to do the multi platform co-op with him either.

with the accounts linked every time you go on portal it will login to steam and you can then talk to his friends and do those sorts of things

So does the game come with a Online pass/CD-key code?

Does it need to be activated before you can play online regardless if it's STEAM or PSN?

Or is the pass just for PSN only?
