Forums - Gaming - Best Buy makes a huge attempt to get your business!

Well I know Best Buy has been trying desperately to get gamers business. They began offering used games and then they began offering pre-orders. After pre-orders they still noticed publishers weren't giving good enough pre-order bonuses so they started a campaign that select titles when pre-ordered would get you a ten dollar gift certificate.

Everyone knows about the Best Buy Reward Zone program. You get a point for every dollar you spend and for every 400$ you get a 5$ gift card. Well Best Buy is introducing a brand new Gamer reward program. Exclusive to gamers who shop at Best Buy. When you sign up you get double the points you would on a regular game purchase.

Best Buy is also promising special deals exclusive to members of Best Buys "Gamers Club". Its unclear just what kind of exclusive offers members of the Gamers Club will receive. However considering Best Buy has been offering some good pre-order deals lately and sales of games on like boxing day and such their is a real possibility that members of Gamers Club will get exclusive sales and pre-order bonuses.

One possibility could also be day one deals, FutureShop prior to being bought by Best Buy used to have a day one sale. The day a game came out they were 10$ off. After Best Buy bought FutureShop that deal stopped, but could they re-introduce it for Gamers Club? I know the 10$ saved me over a hundred dollars a year and also guaranteed FutureShop my business.

What kind of exclusive offers do you think Best Buy will award members of Gamers Club? Is Best Buy doing enough to actually become an alternative to Gamestop/EBGames? Are you going to join Gamers Club?
