Whats up with the numbers. I noticed that too. somebody at vgchartz better explain whats behind these changing numbers for PS3. Seems suspect to me esp. since MS pours time and money into undermining its competitions image in the US

Don't feel I have to defend Diomedes but here are some links

Here's a translation of the last linkMy only question is if the prediction league tables can be updated as the actual data is updated.

This doesn't have any numbers, it's just the result of a survey, without confidence #'s or any real information.

The important part of this link suggests that "according to their sources" PS3 sold approximately 500k. This could be less than 500k, could be more. They repeat this again later in the article. It would be nice if they said where they got this information from.

This link suggests where the first link's numbers came from, but doesn't list sales numbers.
It's likely that the PS3 has sold 500k, but these links aren't really enough evidence to prove it. We'll have to wait for numbers from Sony.

http://www.gamespot.com/pages/unions/read_article.php?topic_id=26099093&union_id=15263 The PS3 has overtaken the Xbox 360 in sales according to a recent survey conducted in France http://www.zdnet.fr/actualites/informatique/0%2C39040745%2C39377078%2C00.htm No sources for the PS3 http://www.tns-sofres.com/etudes/it/101207_jeuxvideo.htm Here's a translation of the last link Study conducted by telephone from 20 to 21 November 2007 among a national sample of 1,000 people representative of the entire population aged 15 and over, also asked about other players the home. ¿Is a survey a reliable source?

Read the thread and you'll find your answers. Don't just show up at the end and expect everyone to paraphrase it for your benefit.
This ‘dynamic update’ makes last weeks sales numbers easier to digest. Not that I’m adverse to the PS3 doing well, but for it to sell under 40k more units than the 360 the previous week to supposedly trouncing it by over 110k this week with no price cut or ‘killer’ app I had my suspicions.

A translation of part of the second link:
...This is less than the Playstation 2, higher than 5.5 million units sold (about 500000 PS3). For its part, Microsoft claims to have sold a total of 500000 Xbox 360 since its release in late 2005. As for the installed base of first-generation Xbox, it is 750000 consoles, according to Microsoft France.
Well for the Xbox data the source is microsotf himself. The ps3 they dont say.
¿Is a survey a reliable source?
As reliable as projections from collected data from 2% retailers, or what ever is with Europe. Thats what VG Chartz makes.
