Going to pick up the Wii U around 6 months after launch (maybe sooner).
Hmm...I'm most likely going to buy the Wii U within a year of launch. As for the PS4 and next Xbox I'm not too sure yet, especially with their remodels that happens.
WiiU maybe close to launch, it depends on price and lineup, otherwise I'll replace my broken Ps3 or my broken 360, and play the games I missed. That should keep me occupied for a couple of years, then I'll reconsider buying WiiU or nextbox or ps4.
It all depends, the consoles have to be a significant step up. Thats why Wii U is no option. If the Xbox3 and PS4 will stun me with their features/graphic/games. I will buy immediatly which one it will be depends on Hardware/Software.
I was gonna say I'm gonna wait to see which console is more powerful out of ps4/nextbox, but I don't really mind too much since sony has an amazing first party, I can't miss out on that. So I'll more than likely get the PS4, probably after it's first price cut, that way it'll be cheaper and I'll have plenty of games to check out.
Really depends on the console:
WiiU: Probably wait a year and see if it has a few good games.
Xbox Next: If the hardware is powerfull enough, and there are a few good launch game, i'll pick it up release day.
PS4: Undecided, will get it at some point though most likely.
You know what sucked? Owning a 3DS, N64, DS, PS2, Gamecube before there were any good games to play. Do you know what was awesome? Owning an Nes, Snes, Xbox 360, PS1, Dreamcast, Genesis, PSP, PS3, and Wii after they had been on the market for 6-12 months.
Aside from the Dreamcast, I can't think of a console that launched with an incredible library. Waiting for a new console to reach its full potential sucks. Higher prices, no games, defective hardware--what's the good in buying early?
I'll have a hard time making myself abstain (I have a game buying weakness) but hopefully, I can wait a few months before buying a next gen console. Good things come to those who wait.
Soon as i see a Game that i cant go on without playing, Wii it was Brawl, 360 it was oblivion and Gears, PS3 it was MGS4 and Killzone 2.
Atto Suggests...:
Book - Malazan Book of the Fallen series
Game - Metro Last Light
TV - Deadwood
Music - Forest Swords
Probably gonna wait a year - It'll have some great games by then and potential hardware failures would be exposed
