Lol, I guess cause the modder is greedy and/or just wants to see if any rich idiot will buy it at that price.  I'm guessing its just the same insides of a normal controller, only the casing is different.  And while it does look interesting, those materials listed+plus the modder's time only make that thing worth maybe a couple hundred bucks.  Nowhere near $1000.
