Lucas has said he wants to do archival editions, and there is a lot of stuff on wiki that gives me some hope it could come soon. |
I think it's unlikely that LucasArts will be releasing any movies on anything other than DVD for quite some time. Ol' Georgie doesn't seem to care about cutting edge formats. His original plan was to release all six movies on DVD after he completed Episode III. Fortunately, the petition helped speed that up a bit but it will be years before Blu-ray gets that kind of grass roots movement, if it does at all.

Then I wonder how many more movies he'll be making before he puts movies on Blu-Ray.
I hope to get the Indiana Jones series on Blu-Ray. Does anyone know what studio Indiana Jones is from? Is it from Paramount. Doesn't Spielberg prefer Blu-Ray, I heard his films were an exception to Paramounts Exclusivity.
I went into Harvey Norman - which is a superstore in Aust. They are only selling HD DVD movies and Players as well as Blu ray players but no BD movies. They have flyer's on all their LCD/Plasma tv's which have HD DVD as their main format.
Then a store person was trying to sell me a HD DVD player and I declined. Then offered duel players. I said nah, just BD for me, plus Blu Ray is winning anyways so I'll stay Blu Ray. The guy laughed and got all serious. HD DVD is winning, Even to the point of saying that Sony Execs have foreseen Blu Ray losing and that they are preparing a HD DVD format or firmware to keep the ps3 alive.
Now if that isn't the biggest crock of shit I have ever heard I just might be an xbox fan

George Lucas controls the Indiana Jones IP. Paramount and Speilberg have zero say on when or where it is released.
Don't hold your breath waiting for it.
