Forums - General - X-Men's Storm In Fear Itself Comic issue, October 2011

Storm of the X-Men is once again featured in Fear Itself. We don't know yet what role will she play on this issue. Will she be teaming up with Danielle Moonstar and fight against Valkyrie or are the three of them going to battle against an unrevealed villain?

Anyway, here's the cover art

I am not up on my comic info. Are they on another planet?

No. It's still earth but this is on an alternate universe,  definitely not 616,

I love alternate universes added into things like this.

hey tell me something. Why would they not do an end of days Xmenmovie like they had in the Fox cartoon? That sentinel in the third movie was great! Maybe even add some apacalypse into the mix. Maybe that is less of a question and more of a want.

We've seen a lot of movies from marvel Comics lately like Thor, Captain America, etc and it looked cool right? But X-Men franchise is under a contract of another company, Fox i think.

As for your question, it depends on who is holding the x-men franchise. I like your ideas about x-men vs sentinels. I believe they could pull it off considering how awesome Transformers movies have been madeI i also want another x-men movie  battling against Apocalypse and his horsemen too.

and hopefully, i really want the x-men to wear their costumes as shown in comics.

That would be great! Just imagine it in a destroyed world, with sentinels everywhere, Wolverine finally a little old, and all the rest. That was probably some of the best times I had with that cartoon was during these episodes, and all the ones with Apocalypse! Iam sure the thousands of comic books have a lot of ideas that could go with it as well!

Indeed. I hope they make the X-Men Worlds Apart story. : )

How does "Fear Itself" compare to DC Comics' "Flashpoint" (where Bruce Wayne died as a kid, Superman was taken by the government, Green Lantern never got his ring, etc). If it's good, I may give it a shot.

I know I stay away from solicitations because of the spoilers they contain but pretty sure Fear Itself has been a big nothing so far, just random battles and 'deaths' to make the story. Like much comic book writing of the last few years, death = story.

What is this book? The solicitation makes out it's just the after effects of Fear Itself or are they trying something else? I'm starting to get annoyed that big occurances are not in the main books and instead in minis every few months.

Hmm, pie.

YOU HAVEN'T READ FLASHPOINT!?

Wonder Woman and the Amazons went to war with Aquaman and his Atlanteans!
Batman died in Crime Alley when his parents got mugged!
Superman's ship crashed into the middle of Metropolis, killing thousands (and he was kept in a government lab, away from the sun, his entire life).

And the only one who knows how the world used to be is The Flash. By the end of the story, the whole DCU starts over with issue #1 and Superman will never wear red underwear, again!

--Best thing about Flashpoint is that the whole story is told in the main issues. You only have to pick up Batman, Superman, etc. if you want to see their perspective on the story.

What was wrong with the DC Universe before?

... well, I read Marvel exclusively so could say many things but why a reset?

Hmm, pie.

@The Fury, I don't think anything was wrong with DC before. Comics on the whole were doing poorly. Movies are more popular than ever but the books themselves were selling pretty bad. DC made the Flashpoint story (pretty similar to the House of M story but the things in Flashpoint really happened) to streamline the universe!, I guess.

I've read some of the New 52 comics where the JLA is meeting for the first time and it's not too bad. It feels like the DC version of Ultimate Marvel except this is the real DC. I guess it got too tough for them to explain why/how so much stuff happened and these characters are still fairly young so they just started over. I'm not a fan of these reboots since it feels a little cheap (like a new artist remaking old hit songs) but I'll give it a chance. Batman, JLA, Deathstroke, and Superman are all I've read so far ($3-$4 each!) but I like what I see.
