Forums - General - OH Noez!! My T.V is busted, recommend me a new one.

So my T.V crapped out on me (just when I bought Resistance 3....aint that a kick in the crotch) and I'm doing my research for a new one. I bought this T.V over 5 years ago so I've been out of the loop on the latest and greatest that are out there. Im looking for a 60" wall mountable T.V (Plasma or LCD, doesn't matter) and would like to hear some opinions on what you think is a good choice. To get things started, I was looking into the Samsung PN59D6500 which is a 59" 1080p 3D TV, which seems pretty good. Link for the specs :

Any good?

Check out the site cnet.com as they usually have good reviews of TVs.

Edit: Not sure what your price is, but here are two of the top TVs that CNET has reviewed that are within your size requirements.

I don't know why people tell me to get a life. I'm a gamer, I have lots of lives!

samsung LED 9000

Wow that Samsung LED 9000 looks amazing but way too expensive for me at the moment.

What's the contrast ratio?

My brother just got one. TRUST me - its worth it. I've never seen anything looking so good. The 3D is spectacular.

We've only played Wipeout and Killzone 3, but waiting for Uncharted 3

Wow that is a nice TV

Looks very nice, got me interested in looking at reviews.
However there I found one big deal breaker for me.

We liked

The gorgeous design and finish on this set, along with the astoundingly sharp picture quality. The screen's multimedia abilities impress, both in terms of networking stream and the richness of Samsung's online content portal. The 2D to 3D conversion is also impressive.

We disliked

The Touch Control remote zapper is far too fiddly to use and its Wi-Fi implementation is wanting. Integrated Wi-Fi would make more sense than a dongle.

There is also crosstalk evident in the set's 3D image, which may be noticeable depending on the kind of 3D material viewed.

There is no zero-overscan, 1:1 pixel matching mode.

And of course, you're going to need deep pockets to buy into the Series 9 experience.

I'm still happy with my 52" Sharp Aquos 1080p LCD tv, it's still running perfectly after 6 years with amazing pq.
(While my 1 year newer Panasonic plasma tv has gone dull and has burn in from 4:3 content)
