Forums - General Discussion - VGC's Mafia Round 33 Uncharted Mayhem

In the GoW game you caught squilliam when you said something like "true townies would test my claim". (Of course, your result is different now, but I also know the importance of altering ideas to stay unpredictable) Anyhow, Squilliam went out of his way to say he wanted to test you, or something like that, and it turned out he was scum.

I forgot what my first gambit was, but it worked similarly and I caught someone, though I was killed before he was IIRC

While I always give up counting quotals after day 2, it is a good indicator to see who is avoiding who. Scum tend to avoid interacting with other scum. It's what you guys call "tells" me thinks?

It's not a bad resource, and I like the name.

Do you track it by content? I think it could use a little more specification but otherwise pretty good way to look at things.

Yeah, I especially like how you quoted heph zero times, and he only quoted you once. Good resource indeed.

"I will have a random order generated that I will keep to myself. If when someone roleclaims if the list is on something that wouldn't apply to that player I bump them to next item on the list that would apply."

I'm not sure why you post this as a defense of your position since it backs what I've been saying.

Let's call the penalties A, B and C and that we agree only C applies to you.

When you roleclaimed, no matter the random generated order that Wonk has you'll always end up with C. Even if the order is ABBABBBBAAABAAC. That's because it says "I bump them to [the] next item on the list that would apply. For you that item is always C.

How do you and Heph not see that your logic could be used to confirm every vanilla townie as pro-town?(plus possibly a couple of powered townies if they hit "lose vote" on the list) Clearly there NEEDS to be exceptions to the rule.

Last time I'll discuss my non-penalized issue. Do you guys think if everyone claimed Town/Townie/Pro-town/whatever the PMs say that as the penalty cycled through the list we could confirm 2 or 3 of the 8 or 9 townies by their loss of vote? It's an exploit which doesn't belong in this game or any other.

if 2 people claimed they would not get the same penalty... at least that is what I gathered from wonk's post. and thus it's not possible to confirm anything.

Say the bomb claims... he could at random lose his suicide attack, lose his passive defensive suicide or not be able to vote. So technically a miller should at random be either not impacted or not able to vote... this would make it a 50% chance of being confirmable, such as every other player.

I really don't like how you used a miller and a bomb as an example :/

bomb is the example that came to mind for a role both active and passive.

Miller is not an example, it's the subject of the discution ^^

Just a side note: I have never seen a bomb that is both active and passive. http://mafiascum.net/wiki/index.php?title=Bomb says it is passive, and Suicide Bomber would be the active version of the role.
