Forums - General Discussion - VGC's Mafia Round 33 Uncharted Mayhem

As for the current subject a few seem to be bringing up, I suspect there is a possibility of a third party but I would suspect them to be limited in their abilities due to the lower number of participants.

But this is something that will never get answered on the first day, barring an idiot blowing his cover, so I don't think it is something that should be given too much thought at this point.

I am actually more interested in hearing what the possible hidden message was in the flavor the theprof came up with.

so basically we have proff/nen vs Hat/linkz with baal and radish as the respective cheerleaders... poke kantor ^^

and damn you radish for being such an easy vote target that it's hard to get reads based on these votes..

I don't think you're making a connection between prof and nen, but I would not be okay with a prof lynch. He doesn't scream town, but nothing has said scum to me.

Speaking of getting reads bason on votes, where is yours?

Well... I usually prefer no lynch to random lynch on day one... It'll likely end up no lynch but we do have plurality so i'll give it a shot.

I still feel uncomfortable lynching Hat. I'd feel uncomfortable lynching prof. Radish I see no real reason to lynch and the same for Nen... so since the other players haven't particularly been influential the game, I'll do something I'd normally feel uncomfortable with, I'm voting linkz.
I'm with trucks on that one, I don't see how you'd be allowed to circumvent the rules, heck Wonk could have done, "you'll lose your vote at random", but no, you're just not impacted. That and the miller claim itself...you're the one who made the precedent of mafia hiding behind miller... and you're too smart to do twice the same trick, that's why you did it day one, it's bolder than before, so that it appears more natural and not premeditated as last time, so it is not the same trick, though it looks like it is to make it "unlikely".

Vote: Linkz

the proff/nen link was based only on who their discution was opposing them to.... not very telling on day one though.

and it's funny you ask for my vote.. I was typing it :p

Warning: this is off-topic from the current discussion.

Did anyone notice anything interesting in regarding to the opening flavor?

I'd prefer to point out my suspicion sometime later on, when it may be more helpful with analyzing, but I don't want to go down with the idea either. Can someone else verify that they're seeing what I'm seeing? It has to do with one of the sentences in the flavor.
I'm pretty sure it's meant to be hidden.. if you know what I'm talking about, please say "I see it".
If nobody sees it, well, I'll probably have to give it away by the end of day.

I'm hoping you'll explain this sooner rather than later. I get the sour taste of a distraction.

That is what I thought it was.

lol, and I was worried you would ninja me with a vote

VOTALS!

On Players

Hat: prof, nen,

Radish: vett, final-fan,

nen: linkz

no lynch: radish

linkz: heph

By Players

prof: hat

nen: hat

vett: radish

final-fan: radish

linkz: nen

radish: no lynch

heph: linkz

with 12 people it would take 7 votes for a majority, with the current spread of votes, 5 is what is needed for a lynch before the time limit

Last time I'll discuss my non-penalized issue. Do you guys think if everyone claimed Town/Townie/Pro-town/whatever the PMs say that as the penalty cycled through the list we could confirm 2 or 3 of the 8 or 9 townies by their loss of vote? It's an exploit which doesn't belong in this game or any other.

if 2 people claimed they would not get the same penalty... at least that is what I gathered from wonk's post. and thus it's not possible to confirm anything.

Say the bomb claims... he could at random lose his suicide attack, lose his passive defensive suicide or not be able to vote. So technically a miller should at random be either not impacted or not able to vote... this would make it a 50% chance of being confirmable, such as every other player.

Hrrmm, I didn't fully explain. My understanding of the rules is that the random order of the penalty is going to apply consecutively to every claim. So it'd be a passive loss->vote->active loss->passive loss cycle. Otherwise it's easy to figure out the order and decide how severe the penalty is. Even if I'm wrong, then you'd still confirm every vanilla townie, since neither an active loss or passive loss would apply.
