Forums - Gaming - Ororo Munroe aka Storm of the X-Men Unleashes Her 6 Alternate Costumes for UMVC3

I was really, really excited about what Ororo Munroe's alternate costumes will be and finally, it has been unleashed. These 6 new costumes is already included in the game, when you buy Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3.

Here's a brief comment on each alternate costume of my favorite comic character of all time.  Starting with:

Black and Gold = The colors that are often used to paint Storm's costume. The red gem on her costume is still present. This is Storm's recent costume which at times also colored on different shades of blue and gold.  This alternate costume also reminds me of Storm's first appearance in Giant-Sized X-Men #1 on May of 1975.

Silver and Gold = Or we can also say white and gold for this alternate costume.  The images on the right was the time when the Uncanny X-men were unquestionably the greatest and most popular team worldwide... the 90's! Of course we cannot forget the times when Storm talks a lot to summon her powers in Uncanny X-Men: The Animated Series. I feel like wanting to watch the cartoon series all over again.

This pretty much reminds me of her being the best ( and the most versatile ) character in Marvel vs Capcom 2.

Black and White = Haven't really seen much from Storm wearing her recent costume in black and white color but what really made this different from her other alternate costumes is the white pattern on her cape, the design which the late Michael Turner used for drawing Storm as being a temporary member of the Fantastic Four for cover arts on issues: The New Fantastic Four #544-550.

Violet and Black = Most people might be surprised that Storm actually wore this color at some point. Clearly, this wasn't a popular color costume from Storm, but for anybody who went to Universal's Islands of Adventure in Orlando, Florida, this is not new. There's a  large image of Storm wearing in violet and black, welcoming you to take a tea-cup ride called Storm Force Accelatron, and help her beat the master of magnetism, Magneto.

To see the tea-cup ride dedicated to Storm, check this youtube link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tf3W4D--rL4

I surely can't help but sing MVC2's very addictive song: Wanna take you for a ride, tenenenet, tenenenet! (a million times) : )

Blue and White = Inspired from when Storm became an Asgardian Goddess in Asgardian Wars, the kind of shade of blue they've used make Storm more beautiful to bask on. How I wish they made her carry the stormcaster which transforms her into a Thunder Goddess.

Gold and Blue: There was a time when all the x-men wore the blue and gold x-uniforms, and a red belt with an x-symbol indicating their membership as an x-man. The colors do look pretty on Storm's recent costume and reminds me a lot of her on her gold alternate costume in X-Men vs Street Fighter and  Marvel vs Capcom 2 as a goddess-tier.

I miss the all-red alternate costume of Storm which was available in the original Marvel vs Capcom 3. But well, I'll just have to choose a new favorite on the new ones, I might choose the Violet and Black alternate costume.

And lastly, the costume that i'm most excited about to get, is Storm's mohawk look, a downloadable content which you can purchase, that comes along with other 3 female characters alternate costumes.

So which one is your favorite?

Wow, how utterly lazy of them. Can't even be bothered to have a new costume model. Just a basic recoloring of the same costume. MK stopped that ages ago.

This.. oh god this. I love Storm as much as the next X-fan, but really Capcom?? Not only are you selling us an enchanced version of a game that should have been like this in the first place, you have alternate colors for basic costumes?? I like the Mohawk, but for Jesus, try harder.

I like the OP I even forgot about some of those costumes

The first two costumes (Black & Gold and Silver & Gold ) were in Marvel vs Capcom 3. The Red and Gold which is my favorite is no longer available in UMVC3.

This one, Red and Black is also no longer available.

So they are REMOVING stuff? Classy, Capcom. Ill wait till this is in the bargain bin

While some of those costumes are nice, there are pretty much nothing but palette swaps. Of course, they are going to release costume packs for like $5 a pop, but what's the point if they will just release another updated version of the game at some point without probably including the previous costume packs.

You are indeed right with that and i really think Capcom will release a new version in the near future and your opinion is for people who can wait til the final version is available. But for other people like me, who can't stand waiting, I guess we really just have to get one and then get another version since we're enjoying playing the game so so much, especially when your favorite character is playable : )

Anyway, here's a larger image of the mohawk Storm available as DLC for UMVC3.

Yeah, I understand. I didn't buy MVC3, but I am definitely wanting to get UMVC3, because I need a fighting fix on my PS3 and I love the presentation/premise of the game (the $40 price tag doesn't hurt, either).
