I had (HAD) a 40gb fat PS3 brought in for repairs because of the yellow light thing. I bought it three years ago. I brought it to this guy who said he could fix it for 30 dollars, and he even gave me a lifetime warranty (!), like every time it breaks, I just bring it back to him for free. So I didn't go to the official repair shops.

Anyway, first time I went there, he showed me it worked, but when I brought it home, it went yellow light again after 5 minutes. Second time, he showed me it worked again, but it started freezing and the fan was going crazy fast. Third time, it started flashing green and red lights, and it crashed permanently.

He gave me a refund but I can't help but feel that I got screwed over... That it was possible to fix it, but now it's completely dead. Should I gather a group of buddies and gang him up?

no don't gang up on him. your smarter then that. yes it could have been fix'd theres no doubt about that, but theres no need to spend time in jail since he gave you a refund.

was the refund the cost of a new PS3?

you accepted the work of an unqualified person. he tried repeatedly to fix it for you and then gave you a refund. you screwed yourself by not taking it to a qualified sony repair centre. but at least you still have money to take it to another unqualified person.

This sounds like an asian loveboy got some happy playtime with the repairmen..... If I was Seece I probably would be in love with this threads
