But Im not sure if I'll ever stop using projectors in the mancave. I think I would miss that DLP style picture when watching movies. Its like in movie theaters...plus mancave is always dark. I was thinking of setting up 3 good 1080p projectors, set up in portrait mode and perfectly aligned to project on a single 16:9 100-120 inch screen. I'll make my own 4K display, thank you very much...

Yeah projector are good for movies, but I almost doesnt use it anymore due to the 2D to 3D conversion of the TV. Thats why im thinking of selling it. But im hesitant, maybe the 3D conversion will fad and Ill want to watch movie on the projector again. The 4K setup your talking about would be quite awesome. Thats something I would like to see. I cant imagine the headache to align everything though lol.

Alright, clearly your not even intelligent enough to find the article excerpt I posted earlier in this SAME THREAD, so apparently I have to spoon feed it to you, don't choke on it:

With dual 720p OLED screens, Sony is also using far more advanced display technology than previous VR-style headsets. Instead of presenting users with a low-resolution, low-fidelity visuals, the HMZ-T1 actually rivals a full-sized HDTV in terms of picture quality. 

And what does that mean exactly? Does it rival a full-sized HDTV that has the same resolution or higher resolution? Does rival means as good? I never said the picture will look like crap, more like the other way around, im sure the picture will look good. I said that the difference between 720P and 1080P would be noticeable, and that picture quality isnt the main point of this type of display. Your reaction baffle me.

Exactly...rivaling a full-sized HDTV doesn't mean it rivals 1080p TVs.

Here's CNET's impression of the device, once again, not a single report of any type of pixelation what so ever, and these guys also seem to be in love with the picture quality.

ITs definetly a good review for the product. No one here is saying that the picture won't be nice. I think we all can agree that this will have a very impressive picture. And for 3D, this may be the new top dog for HDMI 1.4 based 3D content.

All I was saying is that it would benefit from being 1080p and that you would see the difference. It would be very small, but human eye could spot it at that distance.

One part of that review that throws me off is -

"Sony says the HMZ-T1 simulates the viewing experience of a 700-inch movie theatre, as seen at a viewing distance of 20 metres. This may be over-egging it somewhat -- and the illusion is swiftly broken by the fact that you can see the floor below the headset itself. We suspect it could well be more convincing if you used the headset in a room with low or no light."

Why would they not block all possible light from surroundings?

It's apparently so you could look down through the bottom of the device in order to see controls, clickers, your keyboard, whatever your using it with. Useful feature IMO, easily fixed if playing in a darker setting.

The general consensus is that the device feels flimsy and uncomfortable. Great picture, awesome 3D for video games, sloppy design, and cheap feeling headphones. It's supposed to be relatively heavy, too. Too bad. Haven't experienced it myself (I was told it was only available if you order directly from Sony at this point) but I'm not gonna blindly spend $800 on a product that's not quite complete.

Too bad. I wanted this to be awesome. Maybe when they become available at Best Buy and I can try before I buy......
