Forums - General - Thinking about getting a HDTV, which ones do you recommend?

I have a 26" samsung. It does 1080i

regardless if you will use it or not, you will want a tv that can at least do 1080i. You do not want to regret your purchase. Yes 1080p is pointless for the size you are considering.

For Quality, Go for Sony or Samsung.
For Price, I dont know possibly LG.

Either way though, make sure it can do 1080i
and pay attention to the contrast ratio (should be high)/hdmi inputs (should have them)

also, check out amazons reviews, that may help.

Also, if 120mhz is faster then the human eye can see i guess that ends the ghosting argument against lcds.

Ghosting in LCDs is largely a thing of the past. It still happens in some cheaper sets but that's about it.

Ghosting has mostly been in the past for YEARS now. Providing you buy a good set that is, even my PC monitor which is 6 years old now has little to no ghosting(I got a 15.1" LCD when they were like 400$ lol) As far as color LCD's in the past 2 years have made HUGE advances. I think the high end Samsung and Sony LCD's can pull off 98% color with only a minimal bit of tuning. Years ago it was a problem that you had to get past but now realistically if that minimal color loss bothers you you might want to see a doctor for OCD.
