This generation has brought out some of the best games ever made. It's sad to see the next generation rolling in, and I expect Sony and Microsoft to unveil their entrants soon. Let's take a look back at the Wii/360/PS3 generation and share some things that has made it so memorable to us.

 

Mine comes from Valkyria Chronicles

Yknow, everyone sorta waits in line and expects good games to come out of those blockbuster studios like Rockstar, Kojima, Bungie, Bioware, etc., but I didn't imagine that this game could be this good. When I think about this gaming generation, my mind goes straight to VC, and nothing else. Specifically, the Rosie-Isara dynamic, a lifelong story of hatred, discrimination, and persecution, coming full circle. Everyone who played the game can understand what happened and what impact that has, and I just wish it could've sold more for more people to see.

The beauty of this story speaks volumes about how our world operates today. We all go about our business pretending that racial discrimination is a thing of the past; it isn't. It's just as alive today as it was in the old days. I just felt so strongly affected by this game's characters and until now, I still think that this is the best story in a game ever created on any system in any generation.

dud i've play'd VC 5 time now and everytime i get to the death of Isara i just want to stop playing.

i don't just play the game and skip through the cut scenes. i experiance the story all over again.

theres no story this gen tht rivals VC's. they can only be second best.

yea the train scene was epic.

while they won't be close to UC3 i'll add Resistance3 and GEARS3.

and although i haven't play'd much of it Halo Reach, and GOW.

its like the ending of the trilogies always leave the biggest impact.

For me the best moment of the gen was when I got my Wii with Twilight Princess on the European release date. The release of a new console Zelda was exciting enough, but combined with a new Nintendo platform is was epic.

The best times are the coop and multiplayer with friends. Pretty much have played every coop game for 360 and PS3 with a friend and my brothers. The stand outs are Borderlands, Gears of War, COD: WaW to Black Ops, little big planet, castle crashers, trine and Resistance: fall of man. I would often be sipping beer while my friend lit up the doobie. Good times to just hang out and talk smack and joke.

Playing Mario Kart Wii with the Wii wheel highly intoxicated at a house party. Great times. Don't drink and drive kids.

My best memories are playing Wii Sports (bowling with friends), Monster Hunter 3, Animal Crossing, Mario Kart, Smash, and a few other top notch Nintendo games.

The one memory I will forever take from this generation is Sony being dethroned. I wanted to see it happen sooner but the wait was worth it.

-Starting Super Mario Galaxy. I say starting because while it was a great game, it was at its most mindblowing at the beginning
-Brawl's midnight launch
-Hours and hours of Monster Hunter
-My triumph in Pokemon White after finally training a team properly for once
