I put this in the Microsoft forum because this has to do with my 360 copy specifically, though the PS3 version could apply.

I bought El Shaddai from Amazon on Tuesday and it arrived yesterday, just it looked like someone stomped on the case as it was seriously fucked up.  No problem, I returned it to Amazon and got my replacement copy this morning.  All is good.

Except looking at the back of the case, it's in French, or at least mostly in French.  It has the ESRB on the front and it's NTSC but do all American copies all have predominantly French on the back?

I don't have a retail 360 near me so I can't pop the game in to see if I for some reason have a French copy but if I do I want to get it returned to Amazon ASAP so I can actually play the game this weekend.

The same thing happened with the cover of Namco Bandai's Tales of Versperia, where not only the entire other half of the back cover was in French, but so was half of the booklet. I don't own El Shaddai, but it seems like this type of thing is becoming more common. Splinter Cell Conviction Had 2 booklets one in French, the other in English, and again, the back was half-French.

Ace Combat was in French too. They did it that way so they could sell it in Quebec more easily. Since it has a large number of French speaking people. Namco just forgets about Spanish speaking people...
