games like gta, CoD etc are not gory but yes are violent but that violence usually is in the form of fist fights, shooting etc and never really reaches a level above some of the movies mentioned
some of the top movies here like true grit, red, inception, unstoppable etc all have fist fights, shooting etc just like battlefield, CoD, gta etc... i wouldn't really say that the violence in these games extends that far over what is seen in these movies

GTA is extremely violent, due to the fact that you can essentially go and kill regular bystanders on the street. If it were a movie, it would be rated at least R, which would significantly hurt it's box office gross (no R rated movie is even in the top 20 highest grossing films list). Same would go for CoD, if it were a movie. True Grit was like Unforgiven for kids, and none of the movies you mentioned can even compare in terms of violence (and sex and drug-related content) to GTA. If parents actually payed attention to video game ratings like they do with movie ratings, GTA would only sell a small fraction of what it currently sells.

I never said that happens if you play GTA games. I just said that parents wouldn't allow their kids to play such a game, if they bothered to read what it said on the box.
