I think this is a great Idea by Sony PSN.
to get back all the users they lost during the hack attack
and to compete in the future for arcade games and DLC's with Xbox 360.
Microsoft is king right now of arcade games and DLC's...
but Sony could start something good with these titles coming out...

renegade ops and heist look good

thanx for article would of never known bout the deal

                                                                      Play Me

I like Street Fighter III Third Strike Online Edition, renegade ops and the heist.
I will be looking out for those when the are released for sure.

SON¥, out of sheer necessity will, sooner rather than later, end up having to make the PSN an experience on par with XBLA, if it wants its gaming divisions (SCE) to be profitable and self-reliant. They're just betting too much of their future in social networking not to succeed at that, and if that is to become a reality, I'm afraid we'll be seeing the introduction of a pay-for-play online experience. For everybody. With the numbers (read earning reports) that SON¥ has been putting out now, and what they have forcasted to put out in the short term, they just cannot afford to go the distance for free. PS fans would do themselves a favor by understanding that, overall, SON¥ is a business, and as such, it's main reason for being is procuring profit and the general welfare of its stockholders, not providing the hordes of fanboys with punchy arguments to brag about to the rest of us. That being said, good news for PSN users!

I dont think the online conponent is the problem when it comes to profit. It should be the most ludicrous segment actually, and that without charging. Some employees needs to make sure the security is up to par though.

other than deathspank the games look like crap to me.

there are parts of this i agree with but multiplayer shouldn't be pay to play. there should be some other experiances worth having to pay for.

PSN nor XBL have anything worth paying a monthly, or yearly subcription fee for.

OT: street fighter and the heist look great.

Cool it looks pretty damn nice

I agree...multiplayer should not be pay to play....
but this is a company that loss millions this past first quater...
and they are trying to get more ps3 user back with them...especially online.
since the ps3 is now being used for a Blu-ray player
