Forums - PC - What MMO are you looking forward too?

GW's storyline was surprisingly good for an online instanced-multiplayer game, Howerver, GW was not a true MMORPG. It will be very interesting to see the storyline progress of GW2, because it's going to be  a true MMORPG. Problem is that the only MMORPG so far with a great storyline that simply works is Final Fantasy XI. All the other MMORPGs offer a very-promising storyline at the beggining but they end up with a playerbase that is playing the game definitely not for its story.

And that is the biggest drawback of all Asian MMORPGs (with the exception of FFXI) out there. A game with story bits that nobody cares about. That is something to do with their developers not their storywriters. Because they don't know how to combine the unavoidable grinding MMO game mechanics with the freshness of a great story progression.

I would like to see Guild Wars 2 succeed in that. Come on NCSoft!

Uncharted water online - not like that typical game, hack and slash

EverQuest Next (3)

...uhh...ill just put my favorite quote of all time here.

"Welcome to Pain, the second of three...You have dealt the first...now deal with me!!"

The Old Republic, that's about it. And only if it can keep me entertained longer than WoW ever could. That borefest only ever had me playing for 2-3 weeks tops. Could never make it past level 50-60ish before I just got way too bored and drained of the game. Too much grinding or senseless multi-account level/dungeon boosting.

If The Old Republic has a better story element, more involvement and interesting quests for those who like to play on their own time and can't always coordinate with groups of friends, then it should do nicely. But I still won't get my hopes up too high.

테라 | TERA

Bluehole Studio's Tera (The Exiled Realm of Arborea) - Because it's basically Lineage III with another name, and because the guys behind it are South Korean MMORPG dev-gurus. It features action-based battle system (say goodbye to the old-fashioned mmo battle systems), a battle system that we first saw it in the Continent of the Ninth (C9) MMO game. It also features amazing visuals powered by the Unreal Engine 3.

블레이드 & 소울 | Blade and Soul

NCSoft's latest action MMORPG. It also uses the Unreal Engine 3. Expect amazing visuals as well. Art direction is beeing made by Kim Hyung-Taek, his previous work can be seen in the Korean RPGs, Magna Carta.

Make games, not war (that goes for ridiculous fanboys)

I may be the next Maelstorm or not, you be the judge http://videogamesgrow.blogspot.com/  hopefully I can be more of an asset than a fanboy to VGC hehe.

if you like dungeon game i suggest allods or diablo 2 or wait for diablo 3 to be release. but if youre looking for different kind of game which far from hack and slash. uncharted water online makes different looks on MMO sailing and maritime game.

Realistically the Old Republic

Unrealistically? A Halo or Mass effect MMO.
