delayed or not their lineup is still better than the 360's and wii you're forgetting all of the 3rd party games too which most are shared with the 360 and unnannounced games for this year.. Sony Pr has hinted at some big announcements coming our way...

With the bad year Sony had in 2007, all they're talking about is what they have in 2008. They desperately trying to convince people 2008 is their year. We haven't even heard things from Microsoft and Nintendo yet so I wouldn't start prejudging yet, especially when we are still in 2007. At least I am for 10 more hours.

sony hast really said anything on 08 either .... theyve only commented on a couple of games that we didnt know about for 08 like infamous other than that they havent said a whole lot on 08.. except for the games we already knew were coming like mgs4 killzone 2 etc.... im pretty sure all those games they showed a couple of years ago at E3 are still coming out... like eight days.. wardevil getaway 3 etc....

Okay, my mistake, I guess I had Sony confused with Sony fanboys convincing that 08 is the PS3's year. But as I said, we haven't heard much from Microsoft or Nintendo about what they are lining up. To me, the best line up are the ones that sell the most units as well as the console that carries it. You could be very well be right
that the PS3 may have the best line up but don't count your chickens before they hatch.

your forgetting games like infamous, echochrome, and the others. As for your comment on Killzone 2, its apparent from previews that the game has a 99.9% chance of being better then all console FPSs released to date.

99.9% chance of being better than every console FPS to date?  Bioshock, the entire Call of Duty series, the Halo series, MoH games, Metroid Prime games (if you consider them FPS not adventure), Half-Life....  and those are just the big name recent games!  Didn't Killzone fans learn from the original that setting such a high bar leads to greater disappointments?  I think the original Killzone wouldn't have been nearly as mocked or considered a disappointment if it hadn't been prematurely anointed a "Halo-killer".

I'm betting that the PS3's big franchises will meet the same fate as the Gamecube's big franchises - in that, they'll sell to the core audience that they'd normally sell to and nobody else.

As for Killzone 2, who was it that said that, despite the pretty graphics, the gameplay is decidedly "last-gen"? (And even then, Crysis on a top-of-the-line machine still looks better...)

"'Casual games' are something the 'Game Industry' invented to explain away the Wii success instead of actually listening or looking at what Nintendo did. There is no 'casual strategy' from Nintendo. 'Accessible strategy', yes, but ‘casual gamers’ is just the 'Game Industry''s polite way of saying what they feel: 'retarded gamers'."

I was going to comment but left it alone ... In order for it to be one of the best FPS games ever created it would have to average above 95% on reviews which would be (about) a 20% to 25% improvement over Killzone. Personally, I can't recall a sequel to a game getting that big of a boost while being created by the same developer; 5% would be a good improvement, 10% exceptional, and 15% would be one of the greatest turn-arounds ever ...

Seems to me that half of its 08 lineup will become its 09 lineup.. what happened to Haze?? delayed to march 08? littlebigplanet?? was supposed to be january 08 remember... now im hearing august... L.A. Noire delayed to 09.. MGS4 delayed all the way to june and i still doubt it will make that date... killzone 2?? who knows they havent even released a beta yet...    what im getting at here is it seems that most of the games people are waiting for including myself dont come out til the 2nd half of the year or got delayed to the 2nd half of the year or beyond.....   this time last year i had some pretty good games to keep me playing my 360... maybe im just ranting or maybe waiting for all these so called make or break games is getting annoying... whatever the case maybe delayed games dont equal great 2008 lineup....

Finally someone thinks the way i do about Killzone 2, I cannot wait till this game comes out! I don't plan on getting MGS4, but I hope it comes out in good time for all the people who do play it. Also one big one Bonafide forgot to mention is Gran Turismo 5. The lowest selling GT game sold a whopping 8.79 million, so theres definately interest in this game, i'd expect it to sell very well, and move some systems.

There is not much excitement in the current lineup. Looks like the AAA titles are 2009 - 2010.

Geez, that's a pretty big call to make. From a franchise that hasn't established itself as a system seller (let alone a consistently good one), I doubt it will be. Have you actually played the game yet? No? you've only seen video's of other people playing it? and those other people are either sony or the studio that makes it? really, so you must have great insight and are seeing something else that no one else is seeing to make a call like that. What you should have said is: "I am desperately hoping that KZ2 will at least be a dot on the radar of console FPSs"

@OP: Sony's lineup is strong, it's not an all-conquering lineup (because they seem to give a lot of kudos to their new IP's and immediately dismiss the 360's) but it is a strong one none the less. Time will tell if it resonates with the gaming populace, but since it's only the begining of 08 it's too early to judge whether or not their lineup is truly great or not.

Sony has nothing to counter the power of Wii fit

Predictions:Sales of Wii Fit will surpass the combined sales of the Grand Theft Auto franchiseLifetime sales of Wii will surpass the combined sales of the entire Playstation family of consoles by 12/31/2015 Wii hardware sales will surpass the total hardware sales of the PS2 by 12/31/2010 Wii will have 50% marketshare or more by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  It was a little over 48% only)Wii will surpass 45 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  Nintendo Financials showed it fell slightly short of 45 million shipped by end of 2008)Wii will surpass 80 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2009 (I was wrong!! Wii didn't even get to 70 Million)

I went to E3 does that count? And Killzone on the PSP was good, played it on my friends PSP for like 3 hours.

No they're not you moron. 2010? How much have you had to drink tonight? The only one that might be 2009 is FF 13. None will be 2010. Thats a ridiculous statement, unless you have a solid link to back yourself up. I heard Halo Wars is delayed until 2011! and same with Lost Odyssey. And if your with Nintendo, then SSBB won't be until 2009.

My estimates:

Killzone 2 - April 08

MGS 4 - June 08

FF 13 - December 08

LBP - April 08

GT5 - December 08

Haze - January 08
