What is the point of this? Blaming religious persecution if you're arrested for piracy?

Thats what it sounds like yes.  I dont know how they thought they could get a religion formally accepted by the government where the base practice is an illegal act.

Not the stupidest idea in the world. I mean Catholic minors are allowed to imbibe alcohol for ritualistic purposes and the scientologists are allowed to bilk followers out of millions of dollars in what would otherwise be deemed quack psychiatry, certainly there's basis for this

Though the government being in big multimedia's pocked on matters of copyright means this would never really gain ground

Well Scientology is a cult, and anyone dumb enough to follow it deserves to be taken to the bank,  plus thats not really illegal.  And I didnt think that minors were allowed to imbibe alcohol,  I thought you had to be an adult for any ritual that involves alcohol.  But Im not Catholic, so i wouldnt kow for sure.

I don't know what he is taking about - Roman catholics don't have any rituals that include drinking alcochol for minors (and actually i haven't seen any for adults too apart from priest himself who does the wine-blood ritual).

Maybe orthodox church (very unlikely) or protestants ?

I'm a Roman Catholic and for 1 ritual (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_Communion) we actually got to drink alcohol when we were about 10-12 years old (don't remember exactly). It's only one little sip, so it's not a big deal. Most of us didn't even like the taste.

Must be varied depending on country. In Poland you get First Communion only with bread not in dual form.

I think it even varies within the country.
I looked around a bit on the internet, and children who drink wine for the first communion are in the minority it seems.
I didn't care that much about the wine anyway. I didn't like the smell, not to speak of the taste.

I think they are trying to make a point that religion immunity is a joke. I.E. vaticans being immune to law and such.

The best outcome is actually if the state stops special treatment of religions and religious practices (for example allowing churches to be charities or to discriminate against homosexuals) by showing how ridiculous it is to deny a religion with members at least as sincere as many Christians.

You don't have to worry about gay rights in Sweden - they even opened preschool where you can't adress other as him or her and have removed any child book that were considered gay unfriendly.

It's not only very likely, it's exactly what happens. In Eastern Orthodox churches, everyone (including babies), have to drink wine at communion. I don't think protestants even have communion, however.

Only priests are allowed to drink wine at communion in the Catholic church. In the Eatern Orthodox church however, everyone drinks wine at communion (including infants). And they all use the same spoon too...

I actually think they were serious. They probably wanted to take advantage of the special treatment religious organizations recieve.
