I hope this comes to PS3 too But this is going to flop badly either way. If Microsoft gave Namco an incentive...they might not lose much. If not, it's gonna be a HUGE money sink.

Not if MS is paying for development or exclusitivity which they probably are, then namco just gets cash

With regard to Call of Duty 4 having an ultra short single player campaign, I guess it may well have been due to the size limitations of DVD on the XBox 360, one of various limitations multi-platform game designers will have to take into consideration-Mike B

Game trailers-Halo 3 only dissapointed the people who wanted to be dissapointed.

Bet with Harvey Birdman that Lost Odyssey will sell more then Blue dragon did.

I agree, either the wii or ps3, they are going to loss money on this game because of the exclusivity to the Xbox. LO didnt even break 80k.

ITs on its 3rd week leo and will most likely break 100k easily

Wow so why would Namco want to put a game out on a system they know the game will flop on?

Yea I don't see this as an official confirmation yet. I'll wait for Namco to state it, not this. I mean it makes it more lean towards PS360, but Namco isn't dumb enough to put a big series like Tales on the 360, where it will most likely flop.

Because MS more than likely gave Namco some sort of incentive. I mean given the PS3's less than stellar performance in Japan, it can't be too hard for MS to keep getting exclusivity. Has a third party exclusive managed to exceed expectations in Japan on PS3 yet? I mean if MS foots the development costs, Namco makes money no matter how many units the game sells.

Edit: I am so sick and tired of MS getting deriding for "dirty tactics" for buying exclusives. Sony used the same tactics to get to the number one position in the market and no one cared. When MS does it, there is a problem. Hypocrisy strikes yet again.

yeah, cause the 360 is beaming with Japanese success! I hear they're going to rename Tokyo and call it "Bill Gates"

I can imagine the board meeting

"Alright team, if we release it on the PS3 we might be looking at 250k - 300k lifetime in Japan, A modest amount of sales. BUT, instead of that, we can drink paint thinner and then release it on the 360 and have Worldwide sales of around 200k!?!. Then after we come down from paint thinner induced pyschadelic high, we can see that our game sold like crap and release it in a few months on the PS3"

"sounds good boss"

LOL!

Heheh, well guys, I'm pretty sure that if this game doesn't sell well on the Xbox 360 alone (which will most likely be the case), it will be ported to the PS3 or maybe even the Wii!

I'm much happier now, because this *at least* confirms it will be released in America. Then I will be able to play both Tales of Symphonia: Knights Of Ratatosk on my Wii and Tales of Vesperia on my (by then I should have it) Xbox 360!

do we have evidence that MS has paid for this? No? K just checking

So then, what would happen if the game gets ported to the PS3 after the game flops?

It will break 100,000. But easily? I'm not so sure. Right now it sits at 75k with it's 4th week of sales ending a couple days ago. In its most recent week, it sold 6k. It will be a crawl to 100,000

Although it has done better then Trusty Bell, which is at 76k after 28 weeks

Tales isn't a big series... the best selling Tales game of all time is ToS on the GC at 1.08 million. It remains the only Tales game to ever sell more than 1 million units. Chances are Microsoft paid for development which lets Namco make nothing but profit on sales. Not a bad move by Microsoft since Tales games are rarely expensively developed.

I doubt that. I await OFFICIAL confirmation where it'll either be on Wii or PS360, but not a 360 exclusive. And if it does I'm willing to eat my words, but it makes no sense whatsoever for Namco to do it that way, unless of course MS does its behind the scene dirty tactics again.

whats the problem with 360 exlusive? MS most likely paid for it, at least timed exclusive. Paying for development or exclusivetivity is behind scene dirty tactics, i guess all 3 companys are dirty.

Corporations do dirty things, its just due to MS's history they are more than likely the one to be dominating this kinda thing.

most likely a timed exclusive, even if the game does "decent" if its timed namco will bring it to the ps3

What would be the incentive otherwise? Also ES was paid for so we can only assume that this is as well. Its like you put they would be idiots not to make it ps360, if it is in fact 360 exclusive after all. (or timed)
