Forums - Gaming - Video game arguments/debates! Tell your stories . . .

Not on forums but in real life! Video game arguments with friends and family are evr so addicting, funny, serious, but more than often frustrating.

I however find myself getting into arguments against my cousins and we all take opposite sides, (me siding with Nintendo and they siding with Sony) but the interesting parts about heated debates is how inaccurate the debates tend to become the longer they span. For example, if you hear something blasphemous and not true, there's a good chance that you will lie just so you won't loose the debate :D how funny is that. Even I realize how much things I make up after I'm done debating.I've even dabted with Gamestop employees (Snes vs. Genesis). I will share one of mine if people find this thread interesting!

I would like to hear some of your video game related debates. Tell your stories, your frustrations. I would really like this thread to have legs because I know that we here on gamrconnect don't only debate between ourselves, but have other interesting stories.

Ready  . . .  GO!

When I ran Cross Country, everyone else was HUGE on CoD. That I didn't mind.
What made me angry was when they would label the Wii as "kiddy" and make fun of me for what I played. I tried to avoid arguments as best as I could, but sometimes I would just begin rants.
I eventually quit when I asked, "Shouldn't gameplay be more important than graphics?" and they replied, "No."

Smh. Just  goes to show how tunnel minded and ignorant the majority of todays gamers have become. graphics more important? If video games followed that rule I think I would quit playing games. I still enjoy N64 for reals!

No kidding! I hope that they were just trying to win the arguement or troll me, but I was in serious shock when they said that. Hopefully, they wern't "hardcore" gamers s in their life, so maybe that's all they had time for in terms of overall gaming and viewed that as the only way of gaming.....

I know this guy who refuses to admit that N64 owned Playstation 1. His name is badgenome and he is a stupid cultbaby.

I hate how people in my school only play COD, and shun out other shooters, it frustrates me very much because they have bad reasons! They say how it's COD and nothing beats it while they have no knowledge of other games..

This is a touchy subject too. Most people on forums would say PS1 killed N64 because of its massive sales and "support", but honestly, I don't even really remember anything memorable about the PS1. It had RPG's yes, and Gran Turismo, but what else???

I still play N64 today. Super Smash Bros was the most played game whenver I met up with my cousins. I remember staying up late nights playing that game . . .

Plenty. Crash Bandicoot, Resident Evil, Metal Gear Solid, Spyro, Castlevania:SotN, Wipeout, Silent Hill, Syphon Filter, Crash Team Racing, Twisted Metal, Colony Wars, Einhander, Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver, Ape Escape, Armoured Core, Tenchu, Tekken and Medievil are all great games/series that I've enjoyed. Then you also have the RPGs. PS1 was a phenominal console.

Tony Hawk, Driver, Medal of Honor, Tomb Raider and Street Fighter are other games/series other people have enjoyed.

@OP: I haven't gotten into many debates about games with my friends. Typically we play fairly different games - and conversely we play the same games very differently (which creates for much discussion, but rarely a debate oddly enough). The only game that I've played that had sparked much debate is when playing World of Warcraft with my brother. Because of the nature of the game - it is ever changing, as is Blizzard's philosophy on accessibility - it has especially allowed for many differences. Strangely, it was one of my favourite aspects of playing the game.
