PS3 launched in 2006.
The only big exclusives at launch was Resistance:Fall of Man.
2007 had Heavenly Sword, Ratchet and Clank, and Drakes Fortune (a new, unproven IP at the time that wasnt as good as U2). Not really a stellar line up.
2008 when Metal Gear Solid 4 and LittleBigPlanet came out that PS3 really started to get "must own" exclusives.
So to answer your question. there was almost a good 1.5 year period when PS3 didnt have any big exclusives coming out for it.
