So on the week that Sony deny Europe a physical Freedom Wars, Ubisoft ship a Vita title physically that is download only on every other platform...

I honestly expected this to be a digital download code in a box. Pleasantly surprised that it's a full card release :D

Yeah, I was in the city a few hours back and saw that thing on the shelves. I had to check multiple times to make sure it was absolutely, definitely a real physical copy. I even asked some guy who worked at the store and bought it when he showed an opened copy to me. At 19,99€, you really can't complain.

It's also cool that they have an instruction manual-thingy in there. I know it isn't exactly a manual, but even a little booklet with inital instructions and warranty information is rare when it comes to Vita games (isn't that down to some Sony policy also?). Pretty cool for a game that was made to be digital only. Though I heard that it's only physical in Europe and Japan (sorry US/Canada bros. :( ).

Well, I can relate, I wanted a physical limited edition of Soul Sacrifice DELTA, the price on digital was of a new game instead of a expansion. So I didn't bought day one, I'll wait for a offer some of these days...

Even if English ONLY, Fredom wars should release in All Europe physically...

Hmm... Are there any DLCs to SSD?

There's a LOT, and the first one had online pass, I think the new one doesn't as SONY and every other publisher dropped that failed mechanism. The now uses season pass.

SS in northamerica came with spanish subs, so i doubt I'll play it with english subs even I f I don't have problems with the language... ad @kresnink that doesn't include the Artbook -.- i wanted SSD on physical WITH the artbook!!

Is the game itself in English only, or has it got some alternative language options?

This is useless unless you have an Asian account. The game shipps with on-line code.

It would only be "useless" if it were an online-only game (like M.A.G.).

I understand the criticism, but it's an option if people are desperate for a physical copy, depending on what their playing habits are.

It's translated into multiple languages. I don't know what languages exactly, but I'm playing in German. I assume the game's language is dictated by the system language since there's no option to change it, or it might be a single language cart (like the old Pokémon games). I don't know if that is a thing on Vita though (aside from the English only ones, of course) and it wouldn't be analog to what Ubisoft has been doing with their games, so I'd say it's down to the system language. If you want to know if the game has some specific language support, I could check it for you (I think).

So, seeing as digital games don't count. Does this mean we now get to count Child of Light as a great Vita exclusive? :P

RIP Dad 25/11/51 - 13/12/13. You will be missed but never forgotten.

Actually, and I know you say this jokingly, but Vita getting a physical version made me buy the game on Vita. I was planning on buying the Wii U version (because I was interested in the game anyway and Wii U is my primary console next to the 3DS as a handheld), but instead I now own the Vita version since it's available physically on that platform and not the other.

Similarily, Conception II will be a Vita buy for me since 3DS has region locking while Vita does not. Because of this, I scrapped the idea of getting the game for my primary console, so in a way you could say that I treat it as if it were an exclusive (for Vita).

Edit: I feel like elaborating on this further and I'm bored, so here goes: Let's say I wouldn't own a Vita right now and I would look at what I'd get if I bought one and if that is worth it. I would see "oh, neat, there's a physical version of Child of Light on Vita, so that's a reason to buy right there" or "cool, Vita has no region locking, so I can play Conception II off of a physical cartridge. That's compelling." In this decision making process, I'd view these games equivalent to exclusives, just as I actually did when considering an Xbox and Xbox 360 with  games that were only on those systems and PC (because I hate gaming on PC). So even though these games were only console exclusive and not true exclusive, I considered them exclusives because I'd never want to buy these on PC anyway.

Long story short: I welcome the new Vita exclusive, Child of Light.
