A question to people who played Ys Felghana and Celceta:
I'm playing Felghana right now and it looks like combat is much much more skill based (rather than strategic) than I anticipated. I'm playing on normal and I'm having more trouble with especially the bosses than I had a long time in a JRPG. Is Celceta any different in that regard?

If not then I should probably skip on the Ys series. I've never been a fan of ARPGs but I'm always open for new stuff.

Ys Celceta is much easier than Felghana.I've beaten the game recently on normal and I don't think I have died a single time.

Againt bosses in Ys celceta, if you manage to get flash move(avoid an enemy attack at right time), You get a couple of seconds where the boss moves at slow motion, so you can spam attacks on him + special attack and it's over. Also, In celceta you can switch between 3 characters at a time(each has his own attacks/arts/specials) and one off them is mid range, so you can keep your distance from the bosses and spam knife throws at them from afar. Anyways, Felghana is much more challenging than Ys celceta or Ys seven.

Tearaway for me. Hotline Miami gave it a run for its money though.

Celceta is a 2014 game for me, unfortunately!

Looking at that poll i can't understand how people say vita had no quality games this year...

Because at best some of them are B-list.  AAA games are what matter to most people and Vita recieved none.  Not saying B-list games are bad, but they don't sell systems or generate hype.

Ok it may not be mainstream but all in all i got more gaming out of my vita this year than my ps3, so i'm happy with it.

And me getting my gaming-fix is what's most important after all ;P.

If Celceta is anything like Ys Seven (and I'm led to believe it is), then it's much much easier than Felghana.

Felghana is a massive challenge and that's what I loved most about it.

It has been over a decade since the last good Final Fantasy, and that's sad. What's hard to understand about that?

BUT HAVE YOU EVEN XIII-2.

Pretty weird that it's been over 10 years since FF IX though.

I've played all those games in the poll and my vote goes to Ys. Tearaway and Killzone were good but Ys was just so much fun. I loved pretty much everything about it and it now sits just behind P4G on my favorite Vita games list.

PSN: extremeM

PlayStation Vita Japanese Software Sales (Media Create Physical/ Famitsu Digital)

Ys isn't a game here yet, so doesn't get a look in for a lot of the VG Chartz audience.

RIP Dad 25/11/51 - 13/12/13. You will be missed but never forgotten.

Out of that list I would have to say Ys Celceta.

In regards to difficulty though, the fact that you have a 3 member party, and the ability to spam potions removes any real challenge from the game. I know Falcom had to make the game and trophies accessible to casuals, so Ys veterans like myself just had to self-impose restrictions.

Your challenge, should you choose to accept it: Nightmare run with a limit of 1 potion per boss fight. Old school style. Other challenge: After beating the game, start a nightmare game, and when you first take control of Adol at the inn, do the boss run right there. Not only is Adol solo, but you will have pre-set gear for every fight, and a limited number of potions. Adol solo = true Ys. And yes, it's possible to get through any fight with 0 damage by using flash move and flash guards. I recommend flash guarding for crits to reduce fight times, similar to Ys Seven.

Nothing against indies or low budget games. Some people love them, they can be fun, and some of them became epic successes (Pokemon, Bejeweled, Tetris, Ruzzle, ...)

But I find myself in line with Sisca's thoughts. I don't personally like Sony's "plan" to save the Vita. I wish we had more games for Vita in the similar league of what Dissidia, Crisis Core, Valkirya Chronicles and Peace Walker have been for the PSP.
I don't think that they would save the Vita in the sense that with such games hardware sales would skyrocket, no. But at least Vita would consolidate itself as the handheld for gamers, and lot of PSP owners would make the hardware upgrade, and salsefigures could be more consistent.

Example: two month ago I went abroad and happened to have a talk with the son of friends. He's almost twenty, owns both PS3 and PSP, and told me he loves the PSP most and that his favourite game ever has been Kingdom Hearts. He also owns an Iphone 4S, but doesn't use it for gaming. Just to sketch a user profile, so to say.
Anyway he didn't even know that PS Vita existed! Luckily I had one with me, with Dragon's Crown digital. He commented quite positively, but wasn't truly conquered; perhaps the 2D graphics left him a little unimpressed.

Now I ask myself: how comes a total Sony user doesn't even know about the Vita? And once he knows, what are going to be the dealbreaker games?... Surely not Guacamelee or Terraria, with all due respect for those two genially crafted games...

I think that Sony should try to win back at least part of the PSP audience calling back Square-Enix, Konami and Sega for their winner intellectual properties, and producing more focused advertising... I don't think that the indie medicine will save the Vita, nor using it as a remote device for the PS4...

I don't think Sony think they could save vita with indie but they had no choice because third party don't want to develop on it it's better getting indie then getting nothing.

PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

Because, it doesn't count as a Vita game if you can get it on another console, or would have been "better on a big screen".

Soul Sacrifice - Monster Hunter clone wannabe LOL!
Sly Theives in Time - On PS3, why would you want on Vita?
Guacamelee - Shitty 2D indie trash (also on PS3)
Tearaway - Vita isn't worth having for 1 game as the console costs too much.
Killzone Merc - Doesn't count, it belongs on a console and would have been better on PS3. So see KZ: Shadowfall instead
Ys Celceta - There are better JRPGs on 3DS, doesn't count
Hotline Miami - LOL SHITTY INDIE GAME! Also on PC and PS3 why you want on Vita for?
Rayman Legends - On all the consoles, doesn't count.
Dragon's Crown - 2D sexist shit (that's also on PS3).

Sadly these are all actual reasons I've read on vg chartz and other forums as for why these games don't make the Vita worth having.

Soul Sacrifice is not a Monster Hunter clone, majority of playstation game are on xbox then xbox and all the playstation are not worth to buy.
