I was a bit disappointed by the three-pronged plan, actually, because it missed out "Japanese localisations".

I am begrudgingly content in the fact that Vita won't get AAA western support. And I can accept that going forward, Sony want to push indies and remote play.

But they should push Japanese games too. Because Vita is getting tonnes of support from Japan and these games won't sell gangbusters, but will help the system in the west. And they should really be pushing for more of them over here.

Which, I thought they were thanks to the third-party-relations team, until Adam Boyes seemed to shoot down this idea by missing it out altogether in that article.

P.S. Yes, I like Japanese games.

Yeah, I've just found the GAF thread about it.

TBH, that's kind of lame.  What I was secretly hoping for was something like upscaled PSP releases for Vita.  So they bring something across as a PSP digital release, but do a Vita (physical) release also that's upscaled and with remapped controls.  I'd buy that.

Oh well...

Thanks for posting that, I'm interested in what they have to say. At this point I was rather expecting discontinuation annoucements.

welcome

You dirty anime freak! No one buys Japanese games, only weird internet forum people buy that sort of thing. We need emulators, not that JPRG crap! ;)

I agree totally, Sony need to maximise the impact of the Japanese support they're getting and try and spread its effects to other countries. It won't be a game changer (unless FF, KH and MGS games start appearing on Vita) but it will help keep things ticking over nicely

Another no game for Vita.

Teslagrad is being ported next year. More puzzle platforming action for Vita. I have to say, I can live with these indie no games quite happily. Hotline Miami turned out to be one of my favourite games of 2013.

I was actually expecting something like that + trophies as Sony filed for a patent this year where trophies are doable on any game.

And their three-pronged plan is bad. Two of them relies basically on Remote Play O.o'

That looks really cool. I've been neglecting Steam for over a year now, so these platformers are more than welcome on my vita. I hope it's as awesome as it looks ^^

The PC version is reviewing pretty well so far meta of 83 on both sites, so as long as it's a good port, it definitely is one to watch for.

I just can't express how f*****g stupid this "plan" is. It looks like Sony decided to take the back seat and passively look at what's gonna happen.

What sells consoles? Games. What Sony isn't going to focus on? Games. What the result is gonna be? ...

I have actually changed my purchasing habbits when it comes to Vita some time ago. I'm ignoring indie games and only buying retail titles. Indies may be cool, but that's not what I've bought my Vita for  and not what I want to support. I've bought it for big AAA games and that's what I want from it. Now I want to get Batman and Spiderman, since these are the last big games released recently that I still haven't bought. I've bought 7 games the last 3 months and plan to continue focusing on them. I'm leaving indies for PS+ and discounts when they drop to around 2.5 Euro max.

BTW. Adding trophies to PSP and PSX games would be incredible! I'd love it so much!

Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.
