And I say it NOW.. that game is another indie pixelated CRAP... just didn't like it -,-

Surely there's a better way to phrase that opinion :P

Regardless, it shot up the list of my favourite Vita games.  I think it just about pipped Gravity Rush to the #3 spot.

Is that  I don't like retro pixelated games... some looks good, but most are just for 8-16bit nostalgic, or for those that like test and  error difficult games... with a proper 3D engine and physics and colisions and a senital view I would have liked it...but for me most of the good points are diluited on the poor gameplay... and poor graphics...

is not that I'm trying to be a ass as some others.. is justthat this game didn't meet my standarts, and my standarts go from CR*P, OK, Good, GREAT and OMFG! I LOVE THIS SH*T!...

It was definitely an artistic choice to go with the "retro" visuals. However at the same time, it's like 1 guy or so making these games. I think with a 3D engine, the simplicity of the game would have been lost.

I do get what you mean though, I find some of the difficulty of the game is seeing what is going on. But I think it's as much due to the hectic frantic pace as the visuals.

RIP Dad 25/11/51 - 13/12/13. You will be missed but never forgotten.

Played the WRC4 demo again today. Had a much better time with it compared to last time; not quite sure why. Definitely moved up my "to buy" list. Still behind Killzone and Tearaway, but may possibly be my first purchase after Christmas.

I've clocked in a few hours with it now (and about 40% of the trophies). It's seriously the best "Sim" racer on Vita right now, though granted there's not much competition and I actually think it straddles the Sim vs Arcade balance perfectly. The pocketgamer review pretty much sums it up perfectly for me (I'd even give it the same score). Definitely in my top 5 Vita games of 2013.

I love the tension when you're hurtling down a dirt road right on the edge of losing control as it takes very little to completely lose it and total your car (luckily the rewind function can help here) but at the same time, I don't think there has been a rally game since Rallisport Challenge 2 on the Xbox that got the handling so right. I prefer this to DIRT 3 as a Rally game. The handling is fantastic and the visuals look fantastic to boot. There is so much detail to the environments compared with WRC3.

WRC 3 was 6/10 Vita title and WRC 4 is most definitely an 8/10 title in comparison. It really is that much of an improvement. I really need to try Moto GP 2013 now too!

You've just reminded me that I'm still miffed about Codemasters' lack of support for Vita.  Uff.

Glad to hear you're enjoying it though.  I noticed what you were saying about the environments on my most recent playthrough actually.  The draw distance was pretty impressive!

Blame the awful sales of the 3DS F1 game and Vita port of that same 3DS game (with 3DS visuals going against WipeOut...)

I seriously challenge you to find any noticible pop up/draw in on the game. I've not been able to find any yet. The only technical issue I've come across so far is some serious frame drops in Australia. Other than that everything has been silky smooth and when you play at dusk or sun set, the lighting is fantastic.

Other visual complaints really would be the lack of splash when you drive through water. Pocketgamer mention that the cars should look dirtier (the models are fully destructable) but when I did the Welsh rally in the rain, my car did get filthy from that.

Kinda makes me wish Sony had held onto the F1 licence.  They kept MLB as a matter of priority so we get yearly MLB games on Vita; but the F1 titles from Studio Liverpool were gone as soon as Codemasters won the contract in like 2008.  S'a shame.

I guess I just figured Codemasters weren't the kind to pull support after 1 underperforming title.  Though, looking at the sales of their recent games like Dirt Showdown & Grid 2; it might be for their own worries that they can't extend support to multiple platforms anymore.

Codemasters are teetering on the brink of bankruptcy. They basically had to shut down all non essential operations and now only focus on Racing games.

Though given how much the racing game market has contracted over recent years, I don't see that being viable for them either. Heck, in the US they've had to sign up a new distributor (is it Namco Bandai?).

But yeah, times aren't good at Codemasters HQ. I don't see them surviving the shift to PS4/XBONE tbh. Personally that's quite gutting as I grew up with their games on the ZX Spectrum.
