I wonder if the demo stage is in WRC3, might be able to make some comparison shots when I get around to getting the demo. How big is it?

The footage that was recently released, looked like the textures were much higher quality and the car models were far better detailed.

Also makes me optimistic for the MX game they're doing (which I guess is essentially MUD 2?) it's funny how a relatively obscure Italian developer is single handedly keeping portable racing games alive.

Download is 325MB for me.  There's some screenshots up on the store and they look really pretty.  I'll post some tomorrow if I can.  It looks like they've gone for day/night/dusk cycles with this game, I don't know if they were in the previous one.

MUD is actually the Milestone game I was most interested in (reminded me of Motorstorm), but I think I'll wait and see how MXGP turns out.  If the pre-release coverage of WRC4 is anything to go by, it seems like they're getting better at Vita developing.

MUD isn't bad at all, I'd say it's the best Vita game from them that I've played. The graphics are dire, but the music is there (stereotypical rock/metal tracks) and it really reminds me of the old Tony Hawk era games.

It handles well, runs smoothly and has a full career mode though :D You can also get it pretty cheap, I paid £12 for it a good while ago. (I got WRC3 at the same time for the same price).

May well be worth holding out for their new MX game now though, as MUD was also an officially licensed MX game. Did you ever manage to get Moto GP? I've seen that it's really sim heavy, but damn I used to love the old Climax Moto GP games which were also pretty brutal. I have about £11 of credit with Shopto atm which means I could get Moto GP for under a tenner... maybe I'll treat myself when I get paid again haha.

Here you go Kresnik:

It’s easy to see from simply popping in my WRC 3 card into my Vita; things have improved drastically across all areas. While WRC 3 had fairly reasonable graphics for an early Vita release, WRC 4 has had a complete overhaul. Perhaps the most noticeable change which you can see straight away is the detail on the car. In WRC 3 the cars were functional at best, with lo-res textures showing whenever the camera was zoomed in. In comparison, WRC 4′s demo car looks stunning, with improved reflections and much clearer detail. Improvements in lighting also carry over the the environment, with rock faces causing realistic shadow effects that splatter across the track. Another noticeable issue in WRC 3 which arose from the external car view was a choppiness when cornering sharply. This has also disappeared with a solid frame rate throughout.

All sounding very very promising :D

Oh and we might be getting some Killzone Merc news this week :D

@Demon: Did it? I thought the first two together was a bit higher than this one :S At least going by some numbers I saw on gaf.

Also peeps here's some investigative reporting aka twitter stalking info: Gio Corsi met with a bunch of peeps in Chicago. Among these peeps were some from Iron Galaxy studios (dunno about the others) and looking up who Iron Galaxy studios is it seems they do a lot of porting work. I'm guessing we will get one of our requested games for vita through them

My Vita just experienced the Blue Blinking Light of Death while playing Killzone: Mercenary. Scared the living daylights out of me. :(((

Thank God, it wasn't serious and I was able to restart my Vita >.

Well I almost shit bricks. lol! But what is this error anyway? It was mentioned that it happens if you constantly charge and play your Vita at the same time. Something about burning the chip inside but I was just playing a game and then my touchscreen started acting up and this was after it came off its power save mode because I had to put it down for a few minutes.
