Nobody will make a game for the console anymore. The reason PSP became successful was because there were great games that sold millions and were profitable. People who buy a console and never buy a game, cause they steal it from the web won't turn Vita into a success, especially since it's sold with a loss. Everyone having a hacked PSP is the reason why there have been no PSP games in the West for years, even though it has been flourishing in Japan." Where the fuck did I speak about hacking games on vita. Hacking is not all about games you know. For example, a hacked Vita can stream any fucking games on your computer OR on your ps3 actually without any problem. Did you know that ? Look on youtube. So far psp greatest hacking feature was not games hacking. Its greatest feature was emulator by far. It could almost emulate anything, except CPS3, N64 and Dreamcast. Customisation by homebrew came in second position. The psp was already a great device. A hacked Vita could do big things the psp couldn't. Psp did not sell good because of games. Are you serious here ? Psp sold near 80 millions units, and the top selling games sold at an average of 5 millions at best. That does not make any sens. |
Dream on. From the time when I was more into Wii and active in Wii forums I remember people saying that they hacked their Wiis to be able to watch DVDs on them. The fact that they were proud of having a 250 or 500 GB HDD attached to their Wii obviously indicated that that was the only or at least the main reason why they did that... Stop lying to yourself, hacking is about saving money on games first and foremost. Other stuff is just a bonus.
Look at the PSP situation in Europe. It's been dead for years, far more dead than the Vita is, even though it sells 3-4 times more every single week. When was the last time there was a good PSP game released? Or even a PSP game for that matter? Why didn't we get FF Type-0 and many other games? Cause people don't buy games they can download in 10 minutes for free. If you want an emulation device - get a PSP, that's pretty much the only thing it's being sold as now, but I don't want Vita to be turned into that. I want big, new AAA games on Vita and not a Dreamcast emulator. The only thing working in Vita's favour right now is the fact that Vita gamers actually buy a lot of games per capita, so games can still be profitable even at just 5 mil consoles sold. If it was hacked - nobody would make a Vita game, cause nobody would be buying games anymore.
And yes, PSP has been selling so good thanks to quality big games. The attach rate isn't that far off of PS3 considering PS3 is the first ever system that's properly secured and very hard to hack. 80 million people wouldn't care to buy the console just for emulation had it not had GTAs, Tekkens, GT, MHs, GoWs, FFs, MGSs and other major games. Had PSP not been hacked, it would have been a much healthier system with more games sold and more games made for the platform. The number of consoles sold would probably be smaller, but the whole project would be much more profitable for Sony either way and much better for gamers who aren't thieves. Hacking can only help a system sell hardware when the platform is already dead and no more significant games are to be released. Vita is still fighting for life, so I hope hackers won't manage to get the upper hand here, cause I want to get good games in the future.
