Forums - Gaming - wii-u controller vs. dreamcast controller

this is the first thing that came to mind.  im really not trying to fall into the loads of other cynical jackasses out there saying the damn wii-u controller is doomed already before theres even a release date.  i hope the wii-u works wonders with the controller, but something similar (note: i said similar not exactly the same) to the controller has already been tried without the best results.  yes, i know nintendo is an entirely different company than sega and times are a lot different than 10 years ago.  im still just having a little trouble at figuring out how all of this is really going to work.  discuss deeply my fellow vgchartz members please.

The way I see it, the Wii U controller is to the Dreamcast controller (with the VMU) what the PS3/XBox 360 controller is to the SNES controller. While there is similarity in the concept between the controllers, one has evolved the concept so much beyond the original version that they no longer are (really) all that similar

This!

I think its two different controller all together. to me this controller is like a snes controller with an ipad built into it but without the actual processor inside it. they are saying how it is very light so my guess is that the system itself does all the work not the controller. the controller is just a "tv" that is portable with button imputs and a touchscreen. havnt we seen full touch screen remote controls for tv's and other devices before that didnt cost as much as 100 bucks? and with the tech i can see the system with controller being 250 and the extra controllers being 70-80 dollars. which yes kinda expensive but not out of the realm of OMG lol but like i said i dont consider them the same cause the dreamcast controller didnt erally have much of a screen on it much less a touch screen.
