Forums - Microsoft - Xbox Lives Gets Cloud Saves

IGN

Announced in a separate press release following Microsoft's E3 2011 press conference, the company announced cloud storage is coming to Xbox Live for game saves and your Live profile.

Cloud storage allows players to sign into their Xbox Live profile from any console to access their game saves and full profile, including items such as Microsoft Points. "Gone are the days of 'gamertag recovery,'" Microsoft said. Game saves can be stored "securely" to Xbox Live instead of memory units or hard drives.

This will be part of the new dashboard update this fall.

why didn't they say this stuff in their press conference? this is way better then a lot of the junk they had to show.

Playstation All-Stars is one of the best games I've played this gen, and is the most fun I've had in a game this gen.

That is so awesome...I've been wanting something like this for quite a while.

Ok WTF?

This is big news, they should have put this in the conference.

Hopefully we can opt out of the cloud saving.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

Any Idea on the size? I just hope its bigger than Sony's pathetic excuse for cloud saving

any word on if this is fake cloud saves ala psn or real cloud saves ala steam?

M$ gives Windows Phone 7 users 25 gigs of free cloud space on SkyDrive... Actually, anybody with a live account, so take that into consideration of how much space they could offer.

To Access SkyDrive on your computer, log into your Live account and hover over the Windows icon on the top left and SkyDrive should show up.

M$ uses Live as their main link to everything. Live anywhere is finally coming into frutation
