Even though they don't want to, I think Sony will eventually produce the PS4 anyway. I doubt that they want to give up marketshare to Nintendo like they did with the 360. If the Cafe rumors are true, it may take away from the PS3's sales, as well as rack up next-gen sales. Sony will be working on the PS4, soon.

of course there is nor rush for PS$ if like 60 exclusives are in work for the PS3 ^^

PS3 made them lose quite some money, so it's no wonder they don't want to think about a successor yet.

Just because a console releases first doesn't guarantee a dominant market share at the end of that particular console cycle i.e. dreamcast and at this moment 3DS. However, Cafe is likely to have better software than both of these aforementioned platforms and may well get far ahead before the new sony/microsoft platforms are launched. I don't think sony will be too worried until they see the reception to Cafe's release late 2012.

I tink ps3 has a ton of life left in it with all the exclusives coming out and all but 360 has considerably less and I think when MS launches a new system Sony won't be too far behind and not let ps3 reach it's potential

That was sarcasm but I do believe Sony is rushing on the PS4. They are pushing the 3D thing, and PS3 doesn't quite have enough juice. Plus Nintendo is getting what looks to be a huge lead for 8th gen... They are gonna want a new system that can do full 1080p 3D rendering (not 550p or 600p rendering like most PS3 games). I think they are gonna try to launch right in between Nintendo and Microsoft, and thus kick off the 8th gen in style. (Only Sony decides when generations start, Cafe is 7.5 gen)
