Forums - Microsoft - Chair: More Shadow Complex is 'a question of when'

Joystiq

Its been nearly two years since Chair Entertainment wowed us with its Orson Scott Card-penned action-platformer Shadow Complex, but we still frequently think about how badly we want to return to its technology-filled catacombs. Apparently, we're not the only ones -- in a recent interview with Eurogamer, Chair creative director Donald Mustard said, "More Shadow Complex isn't a question of if, it's a question of when," later adding, "Shadow Complex is our baby and we love it dearly and, y'know, we're working on some cool stuff [in general]."

Mustard wouldn't go into more detail about the project, but it doesn't sound like the studio's interested in bringing the original title to smartphones. He said, "Shadow Complex is designed for a controller. I'm not a fan of trying to shoehorn console controls onto touch screens. They don't feel right. You just lose so much precision." Sure, but do you really need much precision when you're wielding a gun that sprays entire hallways with a deluge of foam? We think not.

How about more Advent Rising.

Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!

Kojima: Come out with Project S already!

I had a blast with Shadow Complex so more is good in my book, very good. Fingers crossed for an E3 announcement.

I LOVE paying for Xbox Live! I also love that my love for it pisses off so many people.

Damn, I JUST wrote about this in an article xD

More Shadow Complex?? Yes please. And not on a smart phone. I don't like having to cover up 1/4 of my play area with my thumbs.

Only sad part is that a sequel will be poorly received due to how XBLA works. No sequels ever do well on the system (although I'd gladly buy a new Shadow Complex since it was fantastic).

They'd be smart to port it to iOS/PSN if there isn't an exclusivity agreement. Would do gangbusters on PSN since there is a total lack of comparables. iOS because Infinity Blade is one of the best-selling games of all time, and Shadow Complex would have a massive built-in user base.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

What about a more robust Shadow Complex 2? Big, full 10-12 hr. game on disc, Xbox exclusive.
