What to know the reason why it was pushed back to coincide with Nintendo's E3? Android.

That's right, its my rumor that Nintendo held it back as they wanted to keep Anrdoid on all their platforms a secret. Now, I'm not talking full OS in the front end, but a utilization of all Android apps, including its really well done browser. :)

Can't wait to see this described in more detail at E3 and what it offers the 3DS as well as Project Cafe.

Wait, explain what you're saying here and give any links you have for more information. This is an entirely new theory to me.

Its my own theory, so no source.

I go into more detail in my next Nintendo console thread (see sig).

Basically, I see Nintendo moving more into media/entertainment systems. I see them having their system with Android backends that are fully capable of utilizing all Android applications. Just like Sony has already announced with their NGP.

You can already see this in that the 3DS has "apps".

At E3, I see Nintendo fully detailing their next generation media and network systems and I see them all being based on Android.

Hell, Sony has already confirmed this on their own end and its a brilliant move.

sounds like a big leap over the current PSP (which it should be) im just glad that Ninty is taking the online a little bit more seriously than with DS/Wii

It WOULD eliminate the whole "compete against Android" issue they've got with the 3DS. I also recall another member here saying his brother complained about the 3DS and Nintendo's games being "too expensive". If they packaged 3DS with a heavily modified version of Android, not only would they have the 3DS/DSiWare apps that are much cheaper than a retail game, but they'd also have basically the entire library of games from the Market at their disposal.

I hope you're right, but I highly doubt it. I don't see Nintendo making that serious a partnership with an outside company, after they got burnt so hard by their partnership with Sony in the early 90s. After that happened, they kinda took on a philosophy of sangoku - good ol' Japanese self-reliance.
