Ever hear of Steam, and how it deals with hacking?

i know nof steam but no i'm not sure how it deals with hacking individually?

It deals with them very well.

maybe it does that doesn't mean that it will work for all gaming networks

What he's saying is that companies who run other gaming networks should take notes from them (and trust me, they can).

ok i wouldn't know im not on steam

"You don't even understand that the laughable part is that you equate hacking your PS3 with PSN access."

i just asked you "go find me the quote of what i said that led to that hilarious assumption"

you still haven't shown me the quote where i equate the two

"You don't realize that hacking your PS3 is a right, and accessing PSN is just a privilage"

modifying a console and completely unlocking it to the point where it can be used for malicious acts are different things aren't they?

so now i have to ask you where i said that ALL forms of modification shouldn't be allowed? as far as i remeber i was talking about the keys and the exploits that allowed the console to be completely altered for malicious acts

No.  unlocking it to where it can be used for malicious acts is just hacking something really well.

All that matters is when someone does use said unlocked console for malcious acts.

Then the person who specifically does that, gets punished.

If the world worked otherwise, the only videogames we'd be aloud to play would be games like cooking mama.

so therefore according to what you're saying on an individual basis people should be banned when they mess with the network?... if thats the case suppose for example i have 500 seperate matches going on simultaneously in a game online and spread between them i have 100 hackers interfering with them... according to what you're saying the people who want to play their games must suffer while a moderator takes the time to identify whos doing what and ban them... with the keys distributed that would be a constant issue because as some people are banned more people would be able to unlock their system and take their place... as i said before CoD was completely overun with that, to say that the only viable solution is individual banning is imo nonsense as matches would most likely be consistently interfered with

Yep.  There is an old saying in law.  "The right for a man to extend ones fist ends at another's nose".

And not before.

The real fault is Activision for having such piss poor security.

Why is it that only Activision's one game and only the PS3 version of it is having so much trouble?

It's actually not a hard thing to pull off.  Steam does the same thing ALL the time.... and they run their system on a fully open system (PC) and don't even have access to the hardware or firmware (windows).

Most PC games basically end up with zero problems when it comes to hackers with far less control.
