Forums - Sony - I just kinda ruined Demon's Souls for myself : (

I was taken ages to decide on fighting King Allant on 1-4  (last boss for me) since I was debating if I wanted to delevel myself now, or wait till after I beat him (to fix up my stats abit). Obviously couldn't do it either way untill PSN was back up so I was just doing random stuff and looking up info on builds.....while eagerly waiting for online play to start working.

So I was on youtube looking at random PvP vids till one video caught my attention. I already knew glitches/duping existed in DS but I liked how they often involved some awkward process that required being online and sometimes having a partner - with all that hassle involved, I wasn't motivated to bother trying any of that. Anyways, I noticed the title of a video that happened to pop up....it was for a glitch.....but not just any glitch....

I watched it and after seeing what it could do, I was thinking about trying it but thought, "naaaah, I'm on the most recent version of the game, a glitch like this would be patched by now!"

So I tried it out, and I was wrong.......it took literally about 2 mins to do, then bam.....it worked. I'm guessing pretty much most peeps here have already played the game/moved on/etcetc so not much point in trying to hide anything:  Not including weps/armor, you can literally dupe anything within a minute. All those ridiculously rare stones/etcetc.....yup, infinite supply within seconds.

Honestly, I know I'm not being forced to dupe items but..... =(

It's so easy to do.....I can't help but feel that all the effort I put into the game up to this point was....eh! It almost feels kinda like why I quit Fallout 3 after a short time - permanent decisions in the game never felt so permanent since you could just easily save/load if you manage to screw up horribly. I was saving up some rare stuff (boss souls/etc) on DS in storage for a while since I couldn't decide what to use them on, and I knew I wouldn't be able to get them again till my next playthrough, which was pretty cool!.......but now that magic has kinda died down a little =/

Really wish this didn't exist. I already gave into temptation and upgraded my fav weps to Dragon+5 just to uh....sample the damage >_>

I actually wrote down the original amount of stones I had and plan on degrading my weps back to how I had them before, along with trashing all the duped stones........or will I keep them instead?!

WHAT HAVE I DONE, I CAN'T UNSEE WHAT I SAW =(

Sweet! Tell me how to do this glitch cause i'm gonna need it when I play Demons Souls soon!

lol. Yeah it sucks.

Not even glitching however I'd play Demon's Souls again, I really despise this game. :P

There are two glitches for the final boss (one of them could be used for almost every enemy/boss in the game).

But I prefer a face to face fight.

I'm not going to lie. I swear to god that the fight with that king was designed for multiple people. He raped my face hard so many times. Lol.

I just reverted my weapons back to the way they were before (abit crappier) and got rid of my duped stuff.....now I'm going to fight the king in a legit fashion! =l

I tried fighting him like twice already but wasn't really making a serious attempt since I hadn't decided on my whole little deleveling thing but, he did seem to hit pretty goddamn hard =/

Up untill now, I was surprised at how easy most of the bosses were. The last boss I really struggled on was the Maneater. After that, everything wasn't all that hard. Can't wait till NG .....I read it's a 40% difficulty increase. I've been normal enemies pretty easy'ish for the most part so should be fun, especially since I haven't even got around to making some new weps yet. Hopefully I'll be able to get that Dragon Bone Smasher on my next playthrough too - didn't know about it till it was too late  r_r

Slightly back on topic, I have a mini confession to make:

I might eventually end up duping again -________-

I've been at King Allant for days now, just waiting for psn to get back up so I could delevel myself almost completely to fix up some stats, then relevel myself up abit. All the time I spent waiting was a little frustrating so after I kill Allant, I still might go through with my deleveling plans but......might end up duping souls to level myself back up within minutes =/

Anyways, off to fight the king!

Well, if you're talking about a 'trick' to easily kill that boss, then I probably did that. There's a certain item that once I had it, I never unequipped it (not even once). Using said item was awesome, and turns most of the game into a cakewalk so long as you take it slowly.

Do not feel bad about using 'cheap' stuff. Games have built in rules as it is. Why should you feel bad for playing by those rules and finding something EXTREMELY effective. Rather, you could say using the best strategies is always the best way to play any game. Even if it takes low skill to use, the end goal is beating the game, how you get there doesn't matter.

Now if you want to get better at a game, sometimes you have to limit yourself. But, when it gets down to crunch time and you're in it to win it, use any means necessary. The most effective strategy is the best strategy, regardless of how easy it is to implement.

I strongly urge you to check out this site I'm linking about playing to win. The site is more about competitive gaming, but I see no reason to keep yourself from applying the same principles and ideas to non-competitive gaming.

Weird, I thought King Allant was easy. I played him on co-op first to get my body back, and then fought him alone face to face and kicked his you-know-what. Of course, his AI is extremely good. But not good enough for my character, even though my character is super weak on PvP.

I have no problem too... he has just one attack that should really be avoided.

i remember grinding single Places for HOURS to get those Single Stones..

But what shall i say, Duping/Cloning Items isnt the right thing to do, because i think it kills a bit of the experience. BUT i think reverting all your stuff is kinda.. dumb? Because this destroys your experience even more, mate. you had 'those', and yet you give them away. I dunno. wouldnt do that, but loosing things i had (However earned) would kinda piss me off.

So yeah, i think no one's biting your head off if you keep what you've earned (Even if it wasnt deserved earnings =D) if you dont cheat online, everythings fine.

I'm a Foreigner, and as such, i am grateful for everyone pointing out any mistakes in my english posted above - only this way i'll be able to improve. thank you!
