Born this way while weird (and a tad disappointing) initially grows on you and once I got to like it (mainly after the TV performance with the egg) is an amazing track, I love it now.

...and Judas is my favourite song she has ever done, it is so different (for pop) and quirky.

I am a hardcore Gaga fan and I know a great many others and all of us are fans of these two tracks, Plus they sold well so I have no idea what you could be referring to saying they are 'duds'.

The only 'dud' track she has done imo is dance in the dark, and thats just personal opinion because it offended me, haha, I know many Gaga fans that staunchly defend it.

It seems that all singles from her album have taken the formula that made her popular, and gave it a transexual operation.

Edge of Glory (the one Secee is talking about), and Born This Way sound like she took Madonna songs and simply changed them to make them her own.

Judas just.....Sucks.

I dislike Gaga, but I can understand why songs like Just Dance, Bad Romance, Love Game, ect were very popular. They were very catchy, and had an unbelievable fusion of dance, techno, pop and rock infused in them. These songs totally destroyed that good formula, and derided it into far too simplistic songs that are pure trash.

*edit* and YT agrees with me. Here's the ratio of likes to dislikes for every GaGa video by Vevo (higher percentage = more dislikes):

1. Born This Way - 34.1%
2. Judas - 28.2%
3. Bad Romance - 21.2%
4. Telephone - 15.9%
5. Poker Face - 9.4%
6. LoveGame - 7.7%
7. Just Dance - 7.5%

Mind you, all of these songs have ~100 million views or more, so its not a lack of obscurity by the earlier releases.

Even though I disagree with it on principle, record companies are amazingly good at keeping the semi-talented meat-puppets we call "pop-stars" successful for long periods of time as long as they stick with "the program". Essentially, when you have dozens of successful writers and producers recording dozens of songs with a pop-star where you select the "best songs" (as determined by focus testing) you can generally ensure a certain level of success.

One of the best signals a pop-star’s career is almost over is when they start being unusually political because studios generally focus on apolitical messages; and this is a sure signal that they have lost control of the pop-star who starts to believe their own hype and sees themselves as an artist. Even if the studio is still paying for the experienced writers and producers, and is still using the focus groups, the pop-star will force choices on their album which make it less successful; and (eventually) the studio focuses these resources to a more co-operative singer and the original pop-star rapidly declines into irrelevance.

Within a couple of years (at Lady Gaga's current pace) I expect Lady Gaga to have fully self-destructed.

I actually liked that song more than the weird born this way song. I'm suprised you tried a thread like this Seece considering it's usually filled with people calling her music an abomination.

People love to play cool saying that her music sucks and stuff, lol. For mainstream radiable pop, Gaga´s music is quite good.

...so she's trying to do a Cascada/Madonna mash up? This really just sounds like all those Euro tech songs that were popular back in the 90's. I liked the old Euro tech songs, so this Gaga song isn't that bad, but it feels extremely out of place in this day and age. It's also much worse than her earlier songs (which I only casually heard on the radio, so forgive my inexperience).
