Who knows if it will actually come out in 2012? It makes perfect sense that a company like EA has a development kit already. They need plenty of time to develop games for it.

I always heard how MS and Sony were on the red till awhile ago - or am i that stuck in the past? :D |
MS lost a huge amount at first and wrote off a huge amount for RRoD repairs but 360 has been profitable for what? A couple years now? PS3 has only recently started being profitable on hardware sales and will probably never regroup it's losses.
Its gonna be an interesting fight, to see who takes the spotlight. If this new MS console is just a graphical uptaded 360, it may get overshadowed by whatever innovation the Cafe will have.

pwin´ every other villain since 1994
That dell pic was priceless

PSN: Saugeen-Uwo Feel free to add me (put Vg Chartz as MSG)!

Seriously, people. Get a life....
Somebody posts a bullsh*t article and everybody goes crazy. One month ago, MS posted a job position for a chief architect for the next XBbox desgin and two weeks later, EA has a developer unit? Gimme a break...

I gotta start reading those financial reports! But hey have so many words! :D

WiseOwl don't comment on rumors, Nintendo do. No Microsoft and Sony comments on rumors. No I am not sure about that, nevermind.

The only way that would happen is if the Xbox 3 was so insanely popular, Microsoft would need to cease manufacturing Xbox 360s to use the factories make more Xbox 3s. Which would be a massive win for future interests, for them and the people who buy them.
Otherwise it wouldn't at all, the Xbox 360 will always be cheaper to make than the PS3 and more popular, so there will always be more reason to manufacture it than the PS3 for longer.

Those positions were advertised late last year and they have no real bearing on the design stage or even devkits. For a while, DKs are going to be the next closest PC set up until they start fab, which if its anything like Xbox 360 could be as little as 4 months before launch.
The architect position is less integral to the box as a whole, more to do with shape and placements, as well as budget. The GPU and CPU are contracted out to the best of the best, architect just puts them together with some ram, a disc drive and some buses.
