Swapping discs twice at natural breaks between cases without interrupting the flow of the game vs mandatory installing.

nearly 25 gb  is a lot of space. i think most xbox owners would prefer swapping disks, than installing it to their xbox.

by the way, with this type of game can you install of three disk and have it be one coherent game?

That's the first time I've ever seen you make a regular post!

Anyways, I like your threads, so no hard feelings about some of my ''You're a 360 fanboy'' comments eh?

hehehe

What? 3 discs on 360? Is it the same game engine that powered GTAIV and RDR? Because if it is I've got a tough decision to make. Technically superior 360 version or one disc PS3 version. Hell might go with PC.

technically superior how?

Multiplats have generally been superior on 360, but that difference has barely been notable of late. Moreover, some multiplats seem to be superior on PS3 the last few years.

So,

I'm also wondering why he has reason to state it as fact since there hasn't been any comparison (that I know of).

Glad that Rockstar went the way of more discs instead of cutting content or making it to DLC.

playing right now: Xenoblade Chronicles

Hype-o-meter, from least to most hyped:  the Last Story, Twisted Metal, Mass Effect 3, Final Fantasy XIII-2, Final Fantasy Versus XIII, Playstation ViTA

bet with Mordred11 that Rage will look better on Xbox 360.

so its 3 disks on 360? is there any back tracking in game? il be getting it on ps3 anyways

I know you'll get the PS3 version anyways, but just to answer for other people that may of missed it. You will only have to swap discs twice, between cases, or so says the original article

also its a shame they had to cut content because of DVD.

edit: since its not an open world game, it doesnt impact it as much.

by the sounds of it, disk swapping wont really be a problem advancing linearly through the game, but it sounds like there may be problems if you were wanting to do side missions. yo would have to go back and switch disks again. main missions wont be an issue.

@Bold: Where do you get this? O.o 3 dual layer dvds equal 25.5 GBs. A little over that of a single layer blu-ray. If anything they cut content to allow only a dual layer blu-ray.

@ Second Part: Read my response to Skeeuk

it said, they are making download content that didnt fit on the disk,

so i would assume that if disk space wasnt an issue, then that content would be on the retail disk of the game.

also when i read the article. my understanding of it, was progressing in the game with the main story mission, you will only need to swap disks twice, but their are side mission that arent directly story related, that you can play, but would have to switch disks to get back to them, if they were on the previous disk. the wording was a bit ambiguous, but that was my understanding

So does this confirm GTA V as a ps3 exclusive?

may confirm GTA V with 2(or more)disc for 360

exclusive?nah you forget Wii2?

GTA is a whole different beast, they wont just be able to swip disk in GTA like they can with this game

If they needed, they could have gone the Killzone 3/Final Fantasy XIII/MGS4 route for PS3, put it on a 50GB Blu-ray. Problem solved. Although I imagine doing so would cost a good deal more, but this is Rockstar we're talking about.

But if they did that their "stuff left over for DLC" wouldnt exist.  And they need to make as much money as possible

Where did they state that the PS3 would have a mandatory install?

Like I said in my earlier post, three DVDs have more space than a single layer blu-ray. So if anything, content was cut because of the blu-ray, since the DVDs still had another half gigabyte to fill, they could of probably held a DLC mission or two more.

And if you read the article it says you will only need to swap twice.

In fact, players will only need to swap discs twice at natural breaks between cases without interrupting the flow of the game

Sig thanks to Saber! :D
